September 25, 2015 - Took a bit of effort to get the 3 Wither skulls... but when I try to craft the Nether Star it says peaceful mode only in purple text and wont allow me to remove it from the crafting table..

October 14, 2022 - The only item withers drop are Nether Stars, which is used for creating an interactive block. This is the main function of these items, other than looking nice on Item Frames. It’s also a sign of respect and power, as collecting Nether Stars is difficult. Besides that, the Looting enchantment doesn’t work and will not increase drop chances since it’s always 100% on every Wither death.

September 8, 2015 - As we need a rather large amount of Nether-Stars for high-tier machines and items, I thought we need some way to automate Nether-Stars at some point. Spawning the wither boss comes with a risk, he can be infernal, or he could escape. On top of that, if you need 36 Nether-Stars for 4 Blocks, you have to kill 36 Withers.

It is usually considered the first boss of the game, even though it was added more recently and its advancements are unlocked after defeating the dragon. November 28, 2022 - Other than Wither fights, the end game bosses drop more than a few after they're defeated. Since 2.9 I haven't seen any stars as dungeon loot ... I get 8-12 nether stars at a doom like dungeon that has wither spawner. Best way to get it in my case.
