Hello!
I got logged out of my facebook app yesterday and tried to log back in but I literally cannot figure out what my password is!! My issue is that when I click 'forgot password' there is no option to reset it or anything. I know 100% that my phone number is connected to the account but I'm unsure if the email is anymore but it should be?
I get directed to the link https://www.facebook.com/recover/extended/ineligible and I'm not sure if this is why I cannot change the password.. it is just an endless loop of it telling me to enter my password (kinda like it's taunting me that I can't remember it lol)
I've exhausted every 'help' post on the help centre but it always re-directs me to the enter your password page and there's no contact option :/
Also I am still logged into messenger and I went on the violations tab to check if I had any which I don't so I'm so confused as to why this is happening!
I have no idea what to do and it's really stressing me out- I'm just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue or has resolved this?
And yes I know I'm silly that I didn't write down the password or remember it!!

It’s a glitch. Your password is probably correct... a lot of people had this issue with saved passwords after that weird logout issue the other day. However, to answer your question of how to reset it... try doing it on a computer or phone browser instead of the app. It will ask for your phone number, you type it in, or choose “search by email or name instead”, and it will pop up with the email they will send the reset to, then you confirm yes. Otherwise, if you don’t have access to that email, choose “try another way.” If you choose “try another way” they will give you an option to send you a text to reset instead. Is it still giving you the “loop” that way?

Resolved this issue!!! If you still have access to something, like messenger or facebook on your phone, add an additional mobile number (like your friend or family member’s number) to your account. This stopped the loop of death, and finally I reached a screen with the reset password options! Hooray
