After reviewing these instructions, I can see why you are looking for some tips. The major challenges I can see is ensuring proper positioning the center guide and slides so that the drawer slides in and out parallel to the carcase sides and perpendicular to the face frame.

Does anyone make full extension center mount drawer slides? I am trying to retrofit drawer slides to 1940s cabinets and without having to remake drawer faces I am limited to center mount slides. I can't seem to find anything that would fit the bill. Bottom mount slides that mount to the sides of the drawer won't fit either.

I inherited this dresser from my grandparents and swapped the hardware out with those pictured. However the drawers slip down when opened Ian’s are just riding on a single track piece on the bottom. I’d like to add drawer slides to make this more functional but I’ve never done something like that. I’m fairly handy but wanted to see if y’all had any recommendations on which to use or resources to help with how to do it. Thanks in advance!

I’ve never put door slides in a dresser like this but I believe waxing the surfaces the drawers ride on will make them much smoother. Might be a less expensive alternative.

Cheap and sorta simple way- replace the center track with new and better track and slide bracket on the back of the drawer. Better way but not so simple- new side or bottom mount glides. Mostly you'll need 1/2" clearance on the sides between the drawer and frame for these to fit. Looks like side glides might fit, but you'll have to add wood blocking on the sides of the cabinet to screw the glides to. All this hardware is readily available on Amazon/ Rockler/ etc, and some of them in the big box stores. Should find some good dimensional drawings at the sites online so you know which ones to order. Order a couple you think will fit and try them out. Adding wood to the carcase for side glides is the big chore here. Try a cheap and easy center track first and see if that makes you happy. I’m attempting to refresh my old cabinets, and I really like the idea of soft close drawers. The issue is that all of my drawers are center mount slides, and without extensive modification, it seems like the center rail is the only way I’ll be able to go.
Googling hasn’t really found me anything, but I’m also an idiot. Do they make center rail soft close drawer slides? Is there a “next best” option you guys could recommend? My slides work fine currently, I’d just like them to feel a bit smoother and premium, if that makes any sense. The current ones are pretty crude, so maybe something with ball bearing slides if possible.

No chance of finding any good options like that. You will need to replace the boxes that are made to fit with undermount soft close.

You can buy soft close mechanisms to add to anything. They’re typically a cylindrical thing inside a housing which you can screw to a surface. They look a lot like push-to-open hardware but work in the opposite way. Blum, Hettich, Hafele, & Grass probably all make a version.
