I have newly bought Gigabyte B650 GAMING X AX ATX AM5 Motherboard and 7800x3D still in boxes
I am waiting for the F6 bios to be released before I start building my system.
When F6 bios comes out, can I update it without inserting the CPU into the motherboard? I aint having that thing explode on me.
Also I wonder how long until F6 actually comes out, I hope its no more than a week? Considering all these voltages discoveries
There is currently F6 but its in beta version still, I dont wanna risk it with a beta version. Or at least waiting for a may beta version

I’m currently building a custom pc with the following specs: i5 9600K, Gigabyte Aorus Pro, Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz, and Evga G3 750W.
Outside of the case, I installed the cpu, heatsink and fan(plugged fan into cpufan1), one ram stick, 24pin motherboard power, and the 8pin cpu power.
When I powered the system on the cpu light immediately came on solid red. I tried reseating the cpu, cables, new stick of ram, other psu, but the issue persisted. This is the second motherboard that’s given me this issue. I originally picked an MSI Z390 MPG but I sent it back because I thought it was bad with the same issue, cpu light coming on.
At this point I’m not really sure what else to try? I looked on Gigabytes website and it shows that Aorus Pro supports the i5 9600k but it shows there are two variants. One is only supported on bios ver F5 or later and the other F9 or later.
Is there anyway to get the current bios version without the cpu installed?
Is it possible to update the Gigabyte Aorus Pro without the CPU installed?
Not that i know of, but if you have a mate that has an older cpu spare you could use that to flash the board. Other than that it's a trip down to the computer shop with the motherboard and they should be able to do it quite easily. Its what i had to do with my B450 Aorus Pro Wifi.
You should be able to. There is a white usb port on the back. On gigabytes site there is a guide on how to load the bios on the flash drive and the following procedures. The guide recommends removing the CPU and ram to do it. I did this procedure myself on an aorus pro wifi x570 with success
Hello. I have a gigabyte aorus b450 m motherboard, and for my cpu to work with it I believe it requires a bios update. However I cannot update the bios as I do not have any other cpu to run it off to update the bios. I understand that amd can send out a boot kit, and if necessary I'll do that. Is there any way to use a usb or something to update the bios? If not it might be quicker to just take it into th local pc shop and get them to do it,
