Fan noisy and overheating - HP laptop with Win 10
My laptop is an HP Pavilion DV6-6C65EL with Win 10 and, if there was something I could not stand about this PC, it was the noise of the fan. I'm gonna explain it... I use it mainly for watching videos on YT, movies on Netflix or, especially in this period, using Microsoft Teams. However, the fan was starting to be quite noisy, which was quite annoying as well, even at startup... More on learn.microsoft.com

I did not contact the manufacturer but looked at some threads on the HP forums and people seemed to have the same issue, although the fixes suggested by the tech team did not work for me. Brand new HP laptop has an excessively loud fan noise that is on almost constantly. I'm not sure if this is normal for this model.
Hello... I returned my HP Pav 15 after 2 days... the noise triggered tf outta me... 😂 I jus personally dont see why we as the consumer should hve to go through the hassle of performing all those tasks to ensure that the laptop isnt loud etc... cause at the end of the day.. didnt we pay for a i7 processor laptop thats supposed to run 284738384848 tasks and like... be good... Not always being annoying and installing coolsense and this and that... pardon my cynicism... but I jus used the i7 1tb 16gb ram dynabook (as a work laptop) and ohhh myyy word... no loud irritance... etc... no tasks that we have to endure to ensure peak performance... jus vibes 👀... but best of luck... let me know if the problem goes away after 1 to 2 weeks... I ddnt let my 14 day return policy run out... its too expensive to jus settle and say "oh well itll stop being so hot and loud" ... More on reddit.com

r/techsupport on Reddit: HP laptop fan very loud on startup
July 30, 2020 -

I have a HP 15-AY103DX laptop and at the start, it was working great but after about a while the fan started to be incredibly loud immediately after turning it on and after 15-20 seconds it would go back to normal. I've never had any issue with the laptop overheating and still don't to this day. Is there any setting modifications that I could do myself without taking it completely apart or sending it to a tech?

TL;DR Laptop fan gets loud for short time then goes to normal. DIY fix or tech?

What to Do If HP Laptop Fan Is Noisy and Always Running? - MiniTool
September 24, 2021 - The HP laptop may produce much heat if you play graphical-intense video games or open multiple applications at the same time. You can improve efficiency by following these things: Go to Task Manager to close some startup applications. If you don’t use a program, exit it. If the laptop is warmer than usual when playing games, lower the game resolution and change the graphics settings. If the graphics card driver is outdated, your system may work harder. As a result, more heat is generated and the issue of HP laptop making loud noise happens.

r/techsupport on Reddit: Brand new HP laptop has an excessively loud fan noise that is on almost constantly. I'm not sure if this is normal for this model.
April 23, 2022 -

I bought a HP Pavilion Laptop 15-eh2097nr to use for travel. It just arrived today and right after finishing setup the fan noise kicked into high gear. I can hear it from across the room. The noise is something that would drive me crazy. I have a work laptop (HP elitebook) and it never sounds like that.

Does anyone know if this model of laptop is just noisier? Is there anything I can try, or am I stuck either dealing with it or paying to return the laptop?

Edit: It also seems to get warm quickly right where the fan blows up towards the screen, this is without running anything demanding at all.

My Hp pavillion (CS) laptop makes this noise at the startup nearly always and only in rare occasions during normal usage. This started some month ago with just a noisy startup once, than more frequently and now it's the normality. As shown in the video if i hit the area where the fans should be it stop for a bit till the normal behavior. Should i open the case and try to remove dust or something? or should i just bring it to a computer repairman because the fan is gone? What do you suggest me to do? ty in advance
