I am looking to use the IKEA cabinet door from: GRIMSLÖV off-white kitchen cabinet series as the panel for miele dishwasher. The dishwasher recommends width of 23 1/2" but the ikea cabinet door comes only in 24x30" size. What is the best way to cut quarter inches from both sides and give it a good finish. I don't have many tools and are willing to go to a shop to get it done. Any recommendation how to go about it?

I'm guessing the Ikea door will be particle board. Instead of cutting 1/4" from both sides, maybe just cut 1/2" from 1 side. Then I would take a router and give the edges a 1/8" round over bit. Then use something like bondo to fill all the voids in the particle board edge that you cut, smooth it out slowly with sand paper, then paint to match. Obviously, practice first with a scrap piece before committing.
