Storjorm fix for lights

If you look at the reviews of the STORJORM there are many that complains that after 2 years of use the lights start to stop working. When I bought it I thought, "now how would fix that when it breaks?" I should have listened to myself instead of just getting through the remodel. AND I can't believe they don't have parts (or maybe not). So there is a fix.. pretty easy but little hacky. Other than just putting stuff together you just have to solder wires to the strips (google it). Here is what I did. First I tried to rewire the lights to the existing power supply. It didn't work for some reason.. got flashing lights.. so decided to replace the whole thing. I purchased my parts from from LED supply because they were local and had some good articles explaining what to do with LED strips. From the wall connect to new power supply... MEAN WELL LPV Series Constant Voltage LED Power Supply Wattage : 60W (+$6.05) Voltage : 12V From the power supply connect to... Screw-In Terminal Power Plug From the terminal plug to... Single Color Mini Rotary Dimmer From the dimmer to... LED Strip Splitters - Single Color From the splitter connect to... Jumper Cables for 12V LED Strip Light- 1 meter (two of these) From the jump cable to... 2.1mm Female Power Plug Pigtail Cable (two of these soldered to the strips) From the pigtail to... Non-Waterproof IP20 LED Flex Strip - Density : 60LEDs/M High-Density (+$10.00) Color Temperature : Warm-White 3000K Length : 9-Feet (this was enough to run up both sides of the strip on both sides) Anyway... when I googled a fix I got no results so thought I'd put this out there on the internet in case someone is wondering if it is possible. How difficult would it be to replace Storjorm LEDs with Hue light strips?

They're custom shape LED strips and they come with a built-in power cord/adapter. I'm not sure how you'd go about changing them. Granted, I know nothing about electronics, so this might be easy enough to get around. More on reddit.com
