it is heavily implied that Indo Raptor has a connection to Daisie (the whole "mother" thing) What? The Indoraptor we see is an unstable prototype because it lacks proper parenting, it needed a mother (the Wu's case, Blue). Maisie is just a small child, an easy snack for a crazed hybrid. r/jurassicworldevo on Reddit: Indoraptor genetic makeup
May 28, 2021 -

According to the newest Amber Society video, Indoraptor has Abelisaurus DNA. This was never EVER mentioned in the movies, marketing or merch, but I guess it makes sense for Universal.

Indoraptor and Indominus are pretty much an amalgamation of the entire abelisauridae at this point.

-

Indominus - Carnotaurus, Majungasaurus, Rugops, Pycnonemosaurus, Quilmesaurus, and Viavenator.

Indoraptor - Carnotaurus, Abelisaurus, Velociraptor.

-

I still think Rugops (size and crest) and maybe Pycnonemosaurus (for the size) are the most viable candidates to be new abelisaurids in JWE2.

r/JurassicPark on Reddit: My theory about the raptor dna in the indominus rex (please no judge)
March 8, 2025 -

My theory concerns the Velociraptor DNA used in the Indominus Rex. As we know, the Indominus Rex has Velociraptor DNA to communicate with them. Many fans believe that the Velociraptor DNA used for the Indominus is from the Raptor Squad of Jurassic World, but this is impossible since both the Indominus Rex and the Raptor Squad were born in 2012. So, which Velociraptor did they use for the Indominus Rex? Well, I think I've found the answer: the Velociraptors from JP3.

Masrani initially wanted to use the Velociraptors seen in JP3 for his Jurassic World, but they were too dangerous for the park. However, according to my theory, the scientists took only the DNA from these Velociraptors or their eggs and used it to create the Indominus and the Raptor Squad. This would explain why the Indominus has many traits reminiscent of the Jurassic Park 3 Velociraptors, such as the red eyes, the protofeathers, and even the white color of the alpha. (Although, the aggressiveness of the Indominus Rex seems to resemble that of the Velociraptors from the first two films; perhaps they took DNA from the Velociraptor skeletons found in the 1993 Visitors Center.)

Furthermore, if the Indominus Rex's sibling was indeed black, then there could have been a secret black Velociraptor on Isla Sorna that lived during the events of JP3. Also, in my opinion, during the expedition to Isla Sorna, the scientists took DNA from a green Carnotaurus (canonical in the novels and also in the saga, thanks to Jurassic World: Chaos Theory). This would explain not only the Carnotaurus DNA in the Indominus but also its camouflage ability.

Returning to the Raptor Squad, perhaps they also have the DNA of the Jurassic Park 3 Raptors. Not only does Blue's blue stripe resemble that of the male Raptor from JP3, but also two members of the Raptor Squad (I don't remember which ones) seem to have the skull shape of the JP3 Velociraptors. It's impossible for the Raptor Squad's DNA to be part of the Indominus, as the I-Rex would have inherited some of their characteristics (like Blue's blue stripe, which the Indoraptor inherited). What do you think of this theory?

December 8, 2024 -

I don't know why, but I get strong wolf vibes from Ripper with his quadrupedal stance and his behavior. Course werewolves are one of several horror influences for him- he even howls at the moon. Ripper terrorizing Maisie could also be a nod to Red Riding Hood and The Big Bad Wolf, with Maisie wearing a red coat.

Then there's Dr. Wu's discussion with Mills, using bringing up dogs and back in the first Jurassic World, Hoskins recalled to Barry his keeping a wolf pup which eventually mauled his wife.

Plus, dogs have been used in combat roles, and putting DNA in a dinosaur made for that makes sense logically, so it can take orders and have empathy.

I've had a little look, but I confess I haven't dug too deeply into trying to answer this. I was hoping for a better and more succinct answer here.

The question is this. What is the Indoraptor a hybrid of? Is it as the name suggests a combo of the Indominus and a raptor? Which makes no sense as I'm sure you can work out.

So what then is it?

July 24, 2021 -

I tried to upload an image and make this post but it was instantly removed for using “Reddit Images” and I’m not sure what that means because all I did was select an image off my camera roll and post it with a title. Anyway,

In JW: Fallen Kingdom, the Indoraptor is called a “prototype” so could the Indoraptor be brought back into the franchise as a version 2? This version being smarter, stronger, faster and not made weak by the plot.

I am not saying this is what I want to happen, just asking if it’s a possibility and what everyone would think if it did happen.

Edit: Clearly I need to pay attention a bit more haha

No. There’s no point now, dinosaurs are out and anyone can have and make them. If anything we’re likely to see (Cc season 4 spoiler) Mind controlled dinosaurs instead of being controlled by a laser and sound The Indoraptor was a prototype because all of Wu’s research and documentation was taken by the kids at the end of season three of camp cretaceous and then the laptop was destroyed. So when he got back to the mainland he had to start all over. That’s why it took him two years to get to that point. If the events of Fallen Kingdom didn’t unfold like they did, I’m sure the plan was to perfect it and market a better version. But that’s all off the table now. Wu has no one to fund him. Other countries that may want that power now have either their own dinosaurs or dinosaur DNA where they can do it themselves instead of waiting for him to create and charge whatever he wants. That, and Trevorrow also said we aren’t getting any more hybrids.

Please god, no more hybrids. I still don't understand what the purpose of the sinoceratops-spinosaurus in season 4 of Camp Cretaceous. What exactly does just adding a sail to a ceratopsid do for your dino besides making the creation process even more tedious and expensive? It's not like the sail makes it substantially more durable or anything. At this point it just feels like they're adding hybrids for the sake of hybrids, and not for the purpose of driving the story. Spoilers for camp Cretaceous above.
