Instead, this camera uses sensor-shift stabilization, meaning it's the sensor that is stabilized in real-time and not the lens akin to the in-body stabilization or IBIS seen on many large-sensor digital cameras. The sensor-shift stabilization moves the entire sensor to counter shake instead of shifting the lens. The more space the sensor is allowed to move within its frame - the better the stabilization. And since the sensor is just a single piece on a flat surface - adjustments happen much faster than on a seven-piece optical lens assembly. To be specific, the sensor-shift stabilization on the iPhone 12 Pro Max allows for up to 5,000 adjustments per second.

iPhone 12 Front camera taking bad quality photos
When you go to take a picture using the front camera it looks amazing the quality looks great, however once you click the button it’s dark, sometimes grainy but sometimes it does keep somewhat good quality but nothing like you see before you shoot the picture. I’ve taken the advice of others by getting rid of HDR, turning on burst etc to no avail? like what is up with the camera..my iPhone 13 Pro was a lot better than this.

I had an iPhone 7 Plus. Used it for over 3 years until, due to continuous drops and mishandling, most of it’s hardware did not work properly. I wanted to upgrade to an iPhone, but the notch seemed like the ugliest thing on a display.
So I bought a Samsung A50s and used it for about 1.5 years(I thought, temporarily till Apple fixes their notch) till it died on me a couple of days ago. So I got an iPhone 12. I stared clicking a lot of pics as soon as I got the phone out. Now the A50s is a mid ranger. It clicked decent pics for its price. There were times when it could not keep up(low light usually) but for 350 dollars I could not complain. Now the iPhone pics are good. But they are not that good from a 2 year old 350 dollar phone.
The worst part is the front camera pictures. No matter who the subject is, if the lighting is not perfect/outdoors, the pictures are straight ugly.
Now before you say iPhone pics are more detailed/realistic, looking at the subjects IRL and then looking at the pics seems to differ a lot.
My Samsung seemed to have better pics than iPhone’s front cam. Is there any setting to fix this?
Edit - I hate the Samsung, it is basically the worst phone I have used since I started using smartphones, but it seems to have more consistent front camera pictures than iPhone.

I find that most folks who complain about the cameras need to carry a microfiber cloth. Make sure to wipe the lens of the camera you’re using before taking a pic.

Can I ask why did you hate the samsung? I mean you literally went from using a flagship to a budget phone, what were you expecting?
