So I ported my number from Bell to freedom on the byop plan. Everything went smoothly as far as the port in and my phone and data work fine, but my RCS messaging stopped working and I can only send via SMS. I checked in the messaging app and the RCS says waiting for activation. Any ideas on why or how long it would take?

Reset network settings should fix it right up. Or power cycle.

Resetting network settings did it. It was the same number and same device. All good now. Although i have a question. Do you get 5G in the nationwide area or only on native Freedom. I live between Windsor and London and have yet to see 5G on my phone, just varying levels of LTE.

I just checked for fun to see if there's anything new on Freedom, and I see the iPhone 13 Pro Max with a flash sale flair.
I am on a $50 phone plan running with a Huawei P30 Pro, which has been fully paid for the 24 months by my parents and now recently paying my phone bill. I am a student going back to school, wondering if this is a good deal or if I should wait for the iPhone 14 (I know, it's going to cost way more).
Also, can anyone teach me about MyTabs? I've read some posts but am still confused; I guess you can explain it to me like I'm 5?
I'm new at this, sorry.

I cant say if this is a good deal or not. But the last time I looked at the iphone 13 pro max it required a downpayment if you wanted it on tab on a 50$ plan. So this might be decent for those who do not want to do the downpayment. I am actually considering getting the max myself. I personally have not been offered any promotions since I finished my first tab a while back. Basically with my tab you pay a monthly amount (and freedom also covers some of the cost on their end - so if you save 400ish on my tab they will be paying that bit as well - but say if you want to cancel before the 24 months you will have to pay the amount that freedom was still covering). After pay would be cheaper but you would have to give back the phone in 2 years or pay the difference at the time.
