The 13 pro max feeels wayyyyy more premium than the 16 pro
I can’t put my finger on it but I am always picking up my 13 pro max some some reason.
It’s on a different older iOS version sooo maybe that has something to do with why it feels more snappier
Plus it has the original photos app on it which is a plus.
Apple has some explaining to do.
I love the new Siri Animation on the 16 pro and camera control when I need it
But the 13 pro Max is veryyyyyyy veryyyyy good phone
I have the Alpine Green color.

What is the size difference between iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max?
Which iPhone has a bigger display, iPhone 16 Pro or iPhone 13 Pro Max?
Which iPhone has a better camera setup, iPhone 16 Pro or iPhone 13 Pro Max?
Reading all of the comments the past couple years of users complaining about Apple not innovating enough, I was a bit worried when I submitted my order for the 16 pro max. I had a 13 pro max that had some issues, largely as a result of the abuse I put on it during long outdoor backpacking trips. But it was a good phone. My main complaints were the weight, and the underwhelming OLED brightness.
I assumed more or less the 16 would be the exact same phone and I wouldn’t notice much different. How much better can screens or anything else besides the camera and processor get? Boy was I wrong.
First off, the weight. Oh my goodness. This is my favorite feature on the phone. I thought the titanium was a huge gimmick. Nope it makes a massive difference. I can now run with this thing in basketball shorts without feeling like I have a hunk of steel in my pocket weighing me down. This is almost worth the upgrade alone. Some folks have only pointed out the weight difference is only 11-13 grams. Thats true, but it feels more. I can't explain it. Perhaps it's also the weight distribution.
The camera: fantastic. I really like the new camera button. Took a few minutes to get used to. The 5x optical zoom is also just fantastic. That’s probably my second favorite feature. It feels like a much more serious camera.
Dynamic Island: this is my first experience with it. To be honest, I wish they would get rid of FaceID for TouchID and just go with a pin hole front camera so we don’t have to have this black pill covering the screen. But I’ve actually found it super useful. I can minimize YouTube videos and easily reopen them from the pill and it’s more seamless than the tiny arrow at the side of the screen we had on the 13. I’m torn, but I think for what it is it doesn’t just feel like a gimmick.
Screen: incredible. I recently bought a Galaxy Tab S9 and frankly I was underwhelmed by the screen. The fact that this can go to 2000 nits HDR really shows. The 1 nit always on display is beautiful. I personally think this is a massive upgrade in screen technology from the 13 PM. The larger size and smaller bezels really make a difference.
Playing games, I’ve also not noticed my phone not feeling like a 2000 degree piece of molten steel. Stays SO much cooler than the 13.
Does Apple innovate enough. I’d say probably no. I believe they are behind the curve in terms of a lot of hardware features that competitors have and have been for some time. Apple Intelligence sounds amazing but at this point it’s just a promise. Some of their design decisions puzzle me. BUT. I do enjoy companies that iterate on their products, little by little. Like Porsche.
This phone absolutely feels like a massive upgrade to my 13 Pm. Massive. If you can be patient and wait 2-3 years for a new phone, you’ll start noticing the drastic differences. This phone is absolutely incredible and I’m really glad I bought it.
