Seriously considering upgrading my iPhone 13 to the 16 Pro Max, especially with this Verizon deal. They're saying they'll pay off my current phone and I can keep my basic unlimited plan. Plus, I'd get $830 in trade-in value towards the new phone. I know i would just have to pay extra to upgrade to the 16 pro max.
My 13 has been feeling super slow and laggy lately, so the speed boost of the 16 Pro Max is really appealing. But now I'm also wondering if i should just wait for the iPhone 17 Pro Max that's likely coming out later this year?
Is the 16 Pro Max a big enough jump to justify the cost now with this deal, or is it smarter to hold out for whatever improvements the 17 Pro Max might bring? Are there any potential downsides to waiting?

No. They will somehow find a way to mess up the trade. You won’t get the proper credit. You’ll be stuck in customer service hell. Ask me how I know.

It pretty much comes down too whether you're going to be with Verizon for at least the next 3 years or not. If no, apples deal is probably better Verizon uses bill credits that are split into the 36 months. If you were to leave or upgrade again you would forfeit the remainder of the credits and I believe you would have to pay off the device. You also have to upgrade to the unlimited ultimate plan to take advantage of it. I went through the same dilemma since I can finance through Apple Card as well but I'm going the Verizon route this time for 3 reasons. One I don't upgrade as often as I once did before (it's been every 2 years recently). I'm content with waiting 3 years. Secondly, I have the Verizon credit card so I'm already pretty heavily locked in with them at this point. Lastly, Verizon will give me 1000 for my iPhone 14 Pro as long as I keep the new once for 3 years while Apple is only giving me 400 for it. More on reddit.com
