Just wondering if you got hit with duty charges.

I told my girls I'd pay the duty for them and I'm trying to calculate vin advance but Azazie says they ship from within Canada now too so will there even be any duty?

It's all a little confusing and there isn't much info out there from 2019!

I just wanted to give a heads up in regards to ordering online from Azazie for your bridesmaid dresses if you live in Canada. This is a FYI because I didn’t see this when I was looking online for reviews and it would have made me reconsider ordering through them had I known it.

The dress itself is decent quality, the fit is perfect, and it shipped really fast so I shouldn’t really complain. For an online, roll-of-the-dice order, I really did luck out.

The only complaint I have is the shipping/duty fees.

Dresses in my city were around $250-$300 so we thought we would save a couple bucks by ordering online instead. The dress was $119USD (roughly $160CAD) so a decent discount. The shipping (which I totally expected to pay) was $40USD ($52CAD) for a total of $210 approximate dollars. Okay, that’s still good - still cheaper than the dress shops in my city.

A couple weeks later I get a notification to come pick up my parcel that’s being held because I need to pay an additional $60CAD in COD fees! Booooooo. $112 in shipping/duty fees on a $160 dress!

Edit to add: maybe we should have ordered them altogether to avoid the excessive duty fees - our mistake!

I was just wondering if anyone here, living in Canada, has purchased bridesmaid dresses from azazie, and if the duty and customs have been a lot? I was thinking of getting my bridesmaids dresses from there but I don't want to have to pay an arm and a leg for the import fees.
