Love the hub-and-level design. I wish it was a bit more like Demon's Souls where we had more of a choice of what level to go to, but I'll take this over the huge, sprawling, mostly dull open world of Elden Ring any old day. You don't have to run forever just to get to something fun in LoP.
The overall level design is also more like Demon's Souls than other Soulslike games, and that's a great thing, because From still hasn't surpassed it's Demon's Souls level design.
This is one of the things I enjoy about Lies of P.

I feel the same, I enjoy Elden Ring almost the least out of From's recent catalogue as I'm really not into open world games. A bit more interconnectivity/nonlinearity could have been cool here though, especially for replays, different routing and such, but I'll take strict linearity over open world any day

A year late but thanks for this post (was a Google search result). After playing DSIII and Sekiro too many times, and hating Elden Ring's boring open world (I'll never bother with NG+ or the expansion), I was looking for something else—I think I might have to pick Lies of P up!

A dark, gritty game based on pinocchio that's also Souls-like isn't something I ever expected to be a thing.
But this looks absolutely great. The atmosphere, art direction and world all look wonderful.
