Is is just me or Joel Edgerton totally looks like Dr. Strange?
I think his face looks like Conan O'Brien.
More on reddit.comJoel Edgerton is a treasure, such a versatile an actor. Waiting to see him win an Oscar.
Joel Edgerton is a phenomenal actor!
JOEL EDGERTON, what happened to him? He was in back to back blockbusters, now he’s barely in anything.
I saw Joel Edgerton in a lot of movies over the years but never really paid any attention to him until I saw him in The Great Gatsby, where he played Tom Buchanan.
Some people have a big ego and you kind of know them from even small roles but Joel seemed to sort of disappear into his roles so it's only after I saw The Great Gatsby that I started to pay more attention to him.
I watched The Gift, his directorial debut, which he also produced and in which he also acted, and that was such a good movie. He plays a mysterious guy from Jason Bateman character's past (who has just bought a house with his wife Rebecca Hall) who they meet by accident but then who keeps showing up again and makes their life complicated. It's a very nice psychological thriller.
I won't bore you with the various roles he has played and various films he has been (Zero Dark Thirty, The Green Knight, It Comes at Night, etc.) except to say his most recent, Train Dreams, where he plays Robert Grainier, a railroad worker and a logger, is a phenomenal movie ((95% on Rotten Tomatoes, 88% on Metacritic) that really shows how good of an actor he is. That is not the kind of movie I usually enjoy (period dramas) but he carries that whole movie on his back and brings to life Grainier and make him so interesting.
How he played so many versions of himself and made it believable that we were watching a totally different version of Jason each time was just so impressive. The nuances each Jason had that Joel had to demonstrate to make those distinctions is a testament to his talent—the voice, the facial expressions, the gestures, how he delivered his lines... such a talented actor. Not to mention his perfect American accent as an Australian. So glad he was cast in this role!
I mean… why is he kinda under the radar these days, no one’s talking about him at all, have you guys noticed that?
He was in Warrior, Zero Dark Thirty, Great Gatsby, Ridley’s Exodus, Black Mass… He directed ‘The Gift’ ffs. He used to be one of the most underrated actors back in 2014-15; last I saw him in was ‘The Green Knight’, but he played a very small role, and now he’s barely in anything, mostly doing just supporting roles or small films. Dude should have been playing the lead role by now, don’t you think?… Bad juju, or is he just done with the toxic industry bs?
I haven't seen much of his other acting works and I don't want to be mean here but this guy has basically one (very punchable) facial expression throughout the entire 3 episodes! its just so annoying and almost makes the show unwatchable.
just wanted to see if its just me or others might feel the same?
