The only way this film remotely works is if one were to assume that John Hammond has gone completely crazy, his mind breaking after the events of the previous film, because the idea of sending four people on a "research" expedition to an island full of free-roaming dinosaurs - a team consisting of a paleontologist, a video documentarian, an equipment specialist and a mathematician - is about the stupidest thing I've ever heard. They don't even bring along a professional hunter and are only equipped with one bloody tranq gun. More on reddit.com

Counterpoint: I don't think this movie is bad. It's a cash-in sequel, yes, but it's the best of the sequels and the clifftop scene is a vintage Spielberg set piece shot in a way so few others are able to manage. More on reddit.com

I've always felt like Lost World was the best of the Jurassic sequels and definitely still feel that way after seeing Dominion. I find it odd that so many people rate this movie so negatively and it's never really gained all that much of a following, over the past 25 years.
While I don't think it comes remotely close to it's predecessor in terms of story of characters, I feel it still has all the thrills and chills that you could ever want from a JP film. The VFX may not be as groundbreaking as the original but they definitely improved over the 4 years. There's also a good deal more Dino action to sink your teeth into and a few absolutely outstanding moments of tension.
The film does have a handful of drawbacks: The somewhat caricature characters, the infamous gymnastics scene and the last half hour turning into a Godzilla flick but apart from that, I feel like it's about we good a JP sequel as we're ever going to see.

Underrated. Second best Jurassic Park movie by a fairly wide margin, and contains some great nasty Spielberg. Also, incredible transition from lady on the island screaming to Goldblum yawning in front of a tropical island subway ad.

I was planing to play the Jurassic World Evolution 2, so I think I'll first do re-watch the movies franchise for lore and story before going right in, and boys&girls, The Lost World Jurassic Park making me wanna quit the idea so badly after the ending. It was so bad and so wrong in so many level compared to the Jurassic Park 1993. I can't believe it was directed by the The Wizard of Hollywood, Steven Spielberg and even written by the the same people as the Jurassic Park 1993.
So I think I'll skip the Jurassic Park 3 and go right to Jurassic World, with hope that it going to heal me from this traumas. Wish me luck.
