July 21, 2022Jurassic World: Dominion (2022) 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray
Visible banding in an early water scene, minor bit-depth errors, not good. They’ve also oversharpened the image which makes grain look gritty and inconsistent. Grain cannot be resolved. For a new release, this is quite poor. For the 10% of you that have DTSX, the audio is very good. Excellent use of height channels & surround sound, with ultra-deep bass for the last fight. The sound is good, but it doesn't have Dune or Ambulance levels of greatness. The only reason to own this is the audio which is very good, but even with that said, it just doesn't have a WOW factor.

However, only owning the first one on 3D blu ray and the third on one blu, I'm planning to pick up the full-series set that was announced. I'll still skip Lost World, which I consider Spielberg's weakest film, but the other five (especially the first) I enjoyed enough to revisit in 4K. Good to hear it looks and sounds great! Why does the Blu-Ray disc of the 4K of Jurassic World Dominion Blu-Ray not have the actual film on?! I don't have a 4k player, but got the 4k/Blu-Ray disc as it was better value! I cannot watch this now, so disappointed, If Universal weren't so cheap I could. It doesn't say on the cover that the Blu-Ray only features the Bonus Features. Would it have killed them to include the damn film, 'saving the environment' to not have to purchase 2 different items, and all that bollocks.

I read this so many times trying to understand it, thinking you bought a Blu Ray with no movie and just special features (does the filmmaker's commentary just play over blackness?) When you're referring to the 'actual film,' you mean the theatrical cut, right? The Blu Ray still has the extended version, yes? Or, conversely, are you complaining that you bought a Blu Ray out of a man's smelly suitcase in Times Square and it didn't turn out as fully advertised like that time I bought a Spin magazine subscription in a Best Buy parking lot and never got Spin magazine?
