I am not Mormon let me start with that, but I like to dress modestly (maxi dresses/midi, long sleeves etc) and I find everything now to be cropped or quite revealing. I know Mormon women tend to dress more modestly, which is the style I’m looking to emulate. Looking for casual things as well as professional wear because I start teaching next year. I’m based in Canada so anything available in Canada would be great. I’m also quite tall so I find regular length clothing to be too short. TIA :)
Hi!
I [21F] grew up in Idaho but am not LDS, and am starting teaching this coming fall. I went to Catholic high school, so I have some appropriate clothes, but need to phase out the college t-shirts that also became a staple of my wardrobe over the past few years.
Growing up, the LDS girls and women always had such cute dresses/shirts/skirts that were in style but also had nice cuts. I've always joked growing up that the LDS women and girls were better dressed than anyone else and always had the most classic, beautiful wedding dresses as well.
I hope this isn't odd, but I was wondering if anyone could point me towards some of the brands that 20-something LDS women usually wear? I can't find an answer posted in the past five years online, and due to my Catholic schooling, have only a handful of LDS friends. Having a dress code all throughout high school made me love high necklines and low hems (it's so much easier to go about your day not having to adjust your clothes constantly! and so much less staring! regardless of your religious affiliation!).
I want to phase in more neutral colors so I can mix and match sweaters and dresses etc, because although I still love some of my high school clothes, few are earth tones etc. Anyways, I hoped someone could shorten my search for the type of clothes I really like. I was reminded recently because lots of my LDS acquaintances are getting married/engaged and the photos are so beautiful and I love the clothes.
Thank you so much and I hope I'm not being inappropriate. I'll probably also put this question in r/Utah in case the mods are not happy about it here. Feel free to PM me as well!
