DIY LED light for my wife's vanity bureau mirror
Super awesome! How did you do it?

Is there even a point of getting each mirror with led or they would be no difference with just a led in the middle of the mirror?
Just turn the bathroom light on

Hello and thank you in adcvance! Trying to understand (and possibly resolve) this problem by myself has been an #epicfail so I'm hoping some professional help / advice will do the trick.
SITUATION: I installed a 24" round plug-in LED back-lit mirror with a defogger over the vanity in a very small (48 sqft) full bathroom.
The bathroom has a clawfoot tub / shower.
The bathroom doesn't have an exhaust fan (I know and I'm trying to get that taken care of asap).
The LED lights on the mirror are strip lights (not bulbs).
The mirror is plugged into a GFCI located sort of inside the vanity - the vanity has no back panel so the mirror is plugged into a GFCI in the wall behind and "inside" the vanity cavity (if you open the vanity doors, you can see the outlet behind the plumbing and vanity drawers).
PROBLEM: Sometimes the LED lights and defogger will turn on and off by themselves - sometimes both at once, sometimes one then the other. This goes on until I finally unplug it and put a fan blowing on the mirror for a while.
The last time it happened, (2 days ago), I unplugged the mirror for a nour or so and put a fan on it. When I plugged it back in, I was able to turn the lights and fefogger off. I left them off and also left a fan blowing on the mirror overnight. The next moring I found the mirror lights on. I was able to turn them off and, so far, (it's been roughly 24 hours), they have not gone back on by themselves (but no one has been in the house or the bathroom for 2 days).
CAUSE (I think): I'm pretty sure the self-induced LED lights and defogger activity is caused by humidity and I'm hoping this will be resolved once the exhaust fan is installed. In the meantime, I'm trying to rule out the possibility of defective hardware - namely the mirror touch sensors and GFCI outlet. To that end I have 2 questions:
When the mirror goes crazy by itself, I can hear the touch sensors activating. Does this mean the sensors are defective?
Is there any possibility that the outlet is getting wet from being in a sort of closed and humid environment but it's is NOT tripping properly?
Thank you so much for your help!
