August 17, 2023 - It’s easy to figure out, more visually appealing, and processes a lot smoother than other apps with the same capabilities. My favorite feature in the Libby app is that when you’re listening to audiobooks, you can actually see the percentage sign for your progress which is AMAZING for my Goodreads updates.

I just finished “The Help” and it was by far my favorite ever audiobook. The narration was amazing. I’ve also finished (and greatly enjoyed) To Kill a Mockingbird, Water for Elephants, Hidden Valley Road, The Martian, Ready Player One, 1984, Animal Farm, Inside the O’Briens, the DaVinci Code, Hour of the Witch. I’ve enjoyed Many Diane Chamberlain and Jodi Picoult books in the past as well.
If anyone has any ideas on how to listen to audiobooks without using an Amazon subscription or something other than Libby, PLEASE recommend.

Not sure if you have tried this but go into your Libby and use the add a card option. When it asks to search, put in your zip code. You may find your library works with others in a system that opens you up to more options. I found with an Albuquerque library card i was able to join the New Mexico Library on the Go, which is set up so all the rural networks around the state can access more books, but it also allows me to access. It helped expand the books available to me. Your state might have that kind of thing. I also checked out libraries in my state and found ones that allow me access as a state resident and got those. I would look into that as well.

Just got it and trying to figure out how to always have an audiobook I’m able to listen to.
Do you just put a dozen books on hold and listen to them as they come in?

I put a whole bunch of audiobooks on my wish list. When I need a new one, I filter by "available now", and there's usually at least a few to pick from!

Just put literally everything you want on holds and listen as they come in, making use of the "deliver later" option if you're still working on one.

I’ve been testing it over the past few months and it seems like every single audiobook I listen to on Libby is not good quality. It’s audible and I can understand the narrator, but it’s nowhere as clear as audio coming from Audible previews or YouTube videos. It sounds muted and somewhat crunchy. Has anyone else had this issue?
Edit: turns out I wasn’t going crazy. I reached out to Libby support about it with a video comparing Libby to Audible and this is the response I received:
The marginally lower audio quality that you're experiencing is due to the way we compress our audiobook files in order to streamline downloads for our users. It's not currently possible to adjust the audio quality for the audiobooks that you have borrowed in Libby, but I’ve shared your feedback…

Does your library have Hoopla, they have an extensive number of audiobooks in the 10,000s. The app seems pretty clear.

Yes, the last few books I've downloaded through Libby are hella compressed. They sound like utter garbage, even compared to just regular podcasts. And I'm downloading them, not even streaming them!
