Yo! I need a fairly cheap (sub-600 preferably) laptop just so I can remote in to my own desktop and UFV's machines. I want a new one for the sake of warranty, but when I went to Best Buy they were a little pushy about trying to get me to by something more expensive. Unfortunately, I don't know much about laptop components/APUs, but I do know enough to be very sure I don't need a dedicated GPU and RGB, I have enough power in my desktop lol. The only thing I will probably use the actual laptop hardware for are low-level coding classes (so it'd have to be a windows machine), word processing, reading, and watching a few videos.
Any suggestions as to where to go where the salespeople are more friendly and non-aggressive? I also don't mind going out to Mission.

I go to london drugs for all my tech needs. They have always been really good. I went during the evening to the one in mission and the guy spent a lot of time comparing laptops and suggested a few in different price options for what I was looking for. I have bought most of my tech at London drugs and have never had a bad experience. Best Buy puts me off. I’ve never had any luck there.

Honestly, marketplace. UFV has a page that tells you what kind of computer you will need. If you decide on a MacBook, just make sure it’ll work by the next update. I spent $300 on mine, it runs fast, and it’ll keep running well for a few more years. It’s one of the best ways to get a higher ram with a faster processor without paying twice the price of the base model in store.
