Went through lowes to remedy (counter was different than what was listed on receipt). Neither lowes nor the installation people were very happy to redo it (felt bad but it wasn’t what I paid for) and I never did get the right sink. They did not glue down the countertop the first time so that made the redo easier at least. Really wasn’t a great experience, but wasn’t completely awful. I mean they redid it. We are looking to get new cabinets, countertops, a kitchen sink, and maybe backsplash. I've heard conflicting things about using stores like Lowe's to do this work. Has anyone used them, or considered it and then changed their mind?
I've heard the skills of their employees can be questionable and that they charge quite a bit more than a general contractor would. Any advice would be appreciated. TIA.

The contractors that the big box stores sub out are the ones who can't drum up business on their own. Usually because they already burned all their bridges. Ask your neighbors for recommendations or use a company with good reviews and lots of pictures of their work
