I’m not sure if this is true, but a plumber once told me that a lot of the supposedly reputable brands make lesser quality products for big box stores like the Home Depot. The plumber’s advice was to source faucets from actual plumbing specific stores. Alternatively, you can ask your plumber to source the faucet for you. If you want something that is not likely to break for a long time (and is easier to fix, if it does), definitely go with the Moen. They are usually of better quality. Don't judge by the reviews--they are made by people who have had the faucets for a week, not for 15 years. More on reddit.com

The matte black is a hard no from me. It's already fading as a trend. Chrome, brushed nickel, or oiled bronze... heck even antiqued brass would be better choices. I used oiled bronze in baths, doorknobs, hinges, but the kitchen is intentionally brushed nickel for hardware and fixtures. I wanted a lighter metal in those spaces. It's part of a greatroom,so there's nickel, black iron, bronze, and there plenty of antique brass lamps and objects. The point of all that is that mixed metals are fine. More on reddit.com
