What is a Microsoft Remote job?
What opportunities for advancement are available to new hires in Microsoft entry-level positions with no prior experience?
What entry-level jobs are suitable for individuals with no prior experience?
Hi, guys! Hoping you're doing well and having a nice day!
Sorry if this may be not the proper place or if asking this here results in an inconvenience, but just wanted to narrow down the scope of feedback on this topic. Think that this could be helpful to other people interested in the topic, so I deeply thanks any feedback/insights/opinions on this.
I've been looking for fully remote positions for software engineers or related jobs in the US (this is a long term projection/planning as far), so I was interested on how could be the reliability for aiming for a fully remote position in Microsoft. Is it feasible? Are there any teams/departments that doesn't conceive that modality?
I'm interested also, if this is not a problem for you guys, in getting any opinion on if there are any limitations/caps, from a career perspective, for working fully remote in the company (such as roles/positions that you could not be able to reach/get promoted, as well as a total compensation cap, if working in that modality).
Want to really really thank you for any feedback that you could give me in this subject, I'm greatly thankful for the time that you could take on this. Tremendously appreciate your contribution, even more as I think this could help other people too.
Hoping you are having a good day, guys! Best of wishes, luck and happiness to you all!
So I got an offer from Microsoft's Redmond office, but I really want to live in NYC as my girlfriend and sister live there.
I asked them if NYC is possible, they said I could work remotely from NYC, as everybody is remote until offices reopen, then ask to be 100% remote when offices open and continue working from NYC. He said there's no guarantees, but MS is pretty flexible in these matters.
What do you think are my chances of being able to continue to be fully remote once COVID is no longer, as a new grad SWE? If that doesn't work out, what are my chances of relocating to an East Coast office like New England or NYC after offices reopen?
Thanks.
