I'm making this quick little guide to help the hundreds of Windows 11 users who may find the MS store missing on their operating system. This guide is particularly useful if you tried to install MS store with powershell commands but nothing worked.
Step 1: Open the Xbox app. If you don't have the app then you can just quickly download it on your browser after a quick Google/Bing search "Xbox PC app"
Step 2: Go to settings
Step 3: Click on General settings tab (left second tab on list)
Step 4: In upper right of screen (window) there will be a list of system bundles that are missing. Microsoft Store will be an option. Install it.
Step 5: Open Windows settings and go to Apps tab, then Apps and features (very top) scroll down list your welcome Store is back
I picked the "English (World)" option during the installation of the OS "Time and currency format" and that disabled Windows Store
Same here.....No one on the internet seems to know how to reinstall the damn Microsoft store!!!!!!!
Hello,
I have a similar issue to what the original poster had, bay, but mine is a bit more complicated. I do not have the microsoft store on my machine at all, I uninstalled it with the intent to reinstall but I am unable to do so.
My command prompt does not open at all (I have windows 11 as well and it is labeled as Windows Terminal when I right click on the Start icon to open it that way). I am unable to open the start menu as well. There is simply the blue circle icon showing the action is loading but the start menu never opens.
When I try to open the windows terminal, I get an error saying that 'wt.exe' was not found and make sure you are clicking on the right file or location. This has confused me for a month now and I am not sure how to fix it.
Because of this, I am unable to download any application updates from the Microsoft store which is needed for the Windows terminal and other features like Windows Subsystem for Linux. I recently upgraded my os on my laptop to Windows 11 hoping this could fix the problem, but it has not.
Any suggestions?
Edit: Update, I figured out how to run powershell in admin mode using "Windows key + r" and i ran the same command as listed in john dev's post. My issue now is I get an error that says as follows on the powershell window:
PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"} Add-AppxPackage : Cannot find path 'C:\AppXManifest.xml' because it does not exist.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~- CategoryInfo : ObjectNotFound: (C:\AppXManifest.xml:String) [Add-AppxPackage], ItemNotFoundException
- FullyQualifiedErrorId : PathNotFound,Microsoft.Windows.Appx.PackageManager.Commands.AddAppxPackageCommand
Now I am stuck again.
