Teams basically updates automatically every time you start it unless you installed it in a very restricted way. Even then parts of it are updated dependent on your tenant.

So i think the ms teams version is the actual locally installed software version. I think this is quite obvious. The client version refers to the MS server version you are connected to. It seems to be more closely related to the teams web version. Ive actually got a thread open with our Teams specialist at MS on this and they dont know Who agrees?
