Minneapolis–Saint Paul
metropolitan area in Minnesota, United States
Minneapolis seems like the perfect city. What am I missing?
lack of massive sprawl
Relative to Atlanta, sure, but we've got more than our fair share of sprawl here. I think MSP's strength is that you have a lot of choice in the sort of place you want to live. Want a McMansion in a cul-de-sac? We've got 'em. Want a brownstone condo in a dense neighborhood? Lots of those. Glass skyscraper downtown? Yep. Midrange SFH on a grid? Oh yeah.
I think the two big drawbacks are 1) the weather, if you're not used to it yet (I'm from MN so it doesn't bother me), and, 2) that the culture can, at times be unwelcoming to outsiders. There's two sayings you often hear about the culture here: "want friends? go to kindergarten" and "people will invite you over for dinner but won't let you in."

Wow CBS and The trib Gaslighting everyone?
They both word their titles as if the city council did to behind the backs of the 3 members, when in fact, the 3 members failed to do their due diligence and inform the city council within 3 days of the meeting, which they COULD do. Now the media wants to play it off to start some discrimination war.
