June 19, 2022 - Anyone coming to woodworking from the autobody world will likely prefer this sander over the Festool. The Mirka has a lower center of gravity and tends to feel like a more natural extension of the hand.

December 31, 2017 - Rotex 150. Different animals! Mirka is compatible w Festool vacs. Mirka Ceros/Deros sanders are like air sanders...low profile, palm held, very comfortable. Mirka sanders w abranet discs are virtually dustless.

I have never held or used a Mikra, but I have had a Festool RO150 in my hand for many hours a day for many days! We use the RO125 and RO150 both great sanders but the RO150 in my opinion blows the 125 away, because it has a much greater stroke in Rotax mode and 700+ watts of power in RO mode.

February 9, 2024 - I actually prefer the Mikra ergonomics; the 125mm and 150mm I have have a paddle on/off (vs switch on Festool) - some like that, some don't. May 15, 2024 - I’ve got load of vacuums / dust extractors and sanders and they’re all ‘ok’ but feel I need something better. many thanks. ... I'll be looking at the replies you get. I need one too. Last time I researched I felt Festool had the edge. Then I saw how many models they do . Don't fancy buying the 1.3 Cortina because I didn't know. ... About a year ago I was thinking Mirka...but after research I bought a Metabo SXE 150-5.0 BL sander and teamed with my Metabo M class it's turned out to be a real winner.

Both Mirka and Festool aim to protect the health of their users by minimising their exposure to harmful dust. Mirka offers a better user experience with less vibration and noise which makes using it for a long period of time more comfortable.

I have no issues with that and typically go for the best. However when it comes to festool (for most things they sell) and Mirka and Ekasand for sanders, it seems like things are typical 300% higher.

November 10, 2019 - ... +1 for Mirka. Have used both and just feel that in use the Mirka is just a bit more comfy to use. Also I feel if you are not going to be using it for hours on end on a daily basis that the Mirka is better value for money.

Painter trailed machines he went Mirka, he did out indoor windows, no dust no mess, we tried to do one took hours, he did one in 15min with it, he said tried sanding something with colour above head with white suit and he was spotless when finished work ... When I was doing some DIY getting a house ready to sell I was buying B&D mouse sanders for £20 and throwing them away after use.

I think two weeks. He used Festool with the Festool DC. It was great on flat work, but not on edges and radius work. I may have just used the waller sanders too long to make the change... ... If my festool quit tonight, I'd buy another festool or a Mirka tomorrow.
