If I only go up 2/3 I’d paint the wall above the battens either dark like SW Urbane Bronze or leave it Agreeable Gray (undecided if either is a good look). I’m thinking of using 1x6 instead of the standard 1x4 . This would match the trim on my interior craftsman style doors. Will it look too overwhelming with all the boards?
