I was coming to compliment to MoG who chose this then I read your post - Is your wedding dress similar eg colourful and floral or will you be in white? If so, I think you’re overreacting- it looks special enough to be above a general wedding guest which MoG and MoB are, but it is in no way bridal in colour, length or the fit to the body, it’s conservatively shaped and the colours are pastels so don’t stand out. Styled with simple accessories it will look lovely but in no way draw attention from you! More on reddit.com

I'd let them wear whatever color they want. Black is a neutral. It goes with every other color. You could suggest bright, summer colors, but I wouldn't choose a specific color or colors. They should be able to choose a style and color they feel good wearing.
