Two weeks notice as a contractor for Apex Systems?
The only reason they would walk you out is if the client tells them to do so. It sounds like your manager is already onboard with you staying. More on reddit.com

Experience working with Apex Systems
Any contract W2 role is highly dependent on your account manager and how well they maintain relationships with their client. You can have both good and bad experiences with the same company so make sure you interview them just as much as they interview you. More on reddit.com

Thoughts on Apex Systems?
I believe they mostly are a recruiting/staffing type company. A lot of jobs they contacted me about were a contract to work somewhere else. Or they're recruiting for another company, and they want to place someone to work there. For a first job it's not a bad deal, you get experience and probably a decent hourly rate. But once I got a year or two experience I decided I wouldn't consider jobs like this unless they paid a lot or were direct hire at another company because I don't want to take a job without benefits, especially decent health care. r/recruiting on Reddit: Two weeks notice as a contractor for Apex Systems?
March 2, 2024 -

I am nearing the end of two years contracting with Apex Systems. Contract ends June 30. I am planning to move to a new state at the end of May with my fiancé for her new job and my site manager has known about it for the last month or so. He is supportive and even tried to get me clearance to work fully remotely for the month of June to close out the project.

Last week I received a job offer in the new location, starting June 3. I informed my site manager yesterday, who was receptive to the news and wants to plan the project handover over the next two weeks before I leave. I was preparing to reach out and let my agency contact know, but now I am reading horror stories online of contract employees being walked out the day they provide their agency a two week notice instead of being allowed to work that time.

Has anyone heard of this happening with Apex? I want to be transparent, but I also want to work the next two weeks and get paid. I work in a laboratory, not in IT or administration. Is it safe to assume that if my site is aware of the situation and willing to support me for the rest of the time that Apex will not terminate my contract upon notice? It seems kind of dumb for them to do that and miss out on two weeks of commission.

Thanks for your input!
