Litter Robot 4. We've had it about five months now and it's changed my life. I casually say to my fiancee all the time now "oh when we buy a house of course we should adopt more cats" just because of how easy it is. The other purchase was the Instant Pot air fryer, the one that looks like a toaster oven. It's just the two of us and I have literally not used my oven since we purchased it. Good quality plastic totes with a decent seal in a medium size. Ive used them to move instead of boxes. Stored food in them when my NYC building had mice. Used them as a makeshift tub to bathe my small dog. Kept reserve water in them during an ice storm in TX. And when I dont need them, they stack together and out of the way. Small Fan because it works wonders to move air around instead of turning on AC to cool. This one is maybe weird, but I always have a frozen pizza, a quality packet of ramen, tortilla chips, salsa, cheese, and a dessert in my fridge because Ive realized that these are the foods Ill sometimes crave and order via delivery otherwise. Magnetic metal wall mounted knife strip. Under cabinet lightning in the kitchen. Press lights in all the closets/under sinks. Command strip hooks inside kitchen cabinet doors for silicone trivets/strainers etc. Runner rugs. (Entryway, hallway, etc.) Ceiling fans in all rooms. Pot lights added to bigger/darker spaces (for me it was the kitchen & living room). Dimmer switches in all rooms. Replaced all carpet with tile & rugs (godsend in the south when summer hits). Insulation added to attic (if your house is older). Dehumidifier for summer (extra insulation is a pro-con - but overall lowers and maintains fixed temperature reducing stress on AC unit and bill). Air purifier - always interesting to hear it cut on when the heater turns on the first time each year, or when pollen counts are super high, or someone decides to fry food indoors. Nice soy candles, chandelle is my go to brand. Hefty - reasonably priced, and they last ages longer than other brands, great smells too. Portable battery/solar operated generator for emergencies (Jackery is a solid brand). Emergency preparedness box - relative to your region and natural disasters. Tornadoes and water boil notices are most prevalent in my region so that’s what I prep for and keep a small kit put together when we’re alerted to hunker down in place. Fully kitted out first aid kit - so when you inevitably decide to embark on any DIY projects you can easily find the Neosporin, gauze/bandages etc. lol Those are just what comes to mind first. Edit: Security system that includes exterior cameras, garage door (if applicable to you). Smart thermostat. Dyson or shark stick vacuum - Roomba is only so good. More on reddit.com
