My girlfriend and I are purchasing a queen mattress for the very first time, and we've finally narrowed down what we're looking for. Looking for something that can last us at least 8-10 years.
It seems like to get the gel memory foam cooling that we want, along with the right comfort, $1k is the minimum.
Help us decide which of these 3 mattresses makes the most sense?
DreamCloud Premier Hybrid: seems to fit everything we want, about $1.4k for the mattress, bed frame and headboard, and taxes. Right amount of firmness and cooling.
Nectar Premier Copper Hybrid: extremely similar to the DreamCloud, but about $2k total for the mattress, bed frame and headboard, and taxes. Above the budget I'm looking for so might be out on this one.
Ashley Furniture Sleep Align Firm Gel Memory Foam Hybrid: this is the ONLY one that my girlfriend and I tried in-person, and we loved it. Extremely cool surface, perfect amount of firmness, but total cost for the mattress, frame, and taxes is about $1.8k, at the top of our budget. So about $400-$500 less than the DreamCloud mattress. Wondering if there's room to negotiate this down a bit?
Tried some other mattresses in-person like Sealy (much lower cost but the quality was also lower; cooling top was non-existent) and Purple (high cost, weird texture, kinda sucked), and we're leaning toward the Ashley option just because our experience was so nice with it.
Any red flags here? Does it make sense to go with the cheapest one, DreamCloud, and just be done with it, or shoot for the Ashley Furniture one, for the local store benefit and since we've actually tried it?
