With the release of PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie on September 29, 2023, in theaters, it also completes Paramount's four-quadrant kid-friendly theatrical release trio of 2023.
The first movie of the three 4-Q kidpics from Paramount released this year was Transformers: Rise of The Beasts. It was released on June 9th.
The second one was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. It was released on August 2.
The third and final one of the trio was the aforementioned PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie. It was released on September 29.
Those three films are aimed at general audiences of many different ages because of those reasons:
- They're based off of popular multimedia franchises
- They're four-quadrant movies, which means they appeal to all four quadrants - male, female, over and under 25
- They have two of the three unrestricted MPAA ratings: PG and PG-13.
- They appeal to kids and families because they're based off of franchises that kids adore
- Their target audiences is general audiences, of course.
- Kids love PAW Patrol, Ninja Turtles and Transformers. Why not? Because they love funny animals and gigantic sentient transforming robots that turn into all kinds of things.
It's worth noting that only Transformers: Rise of The Beasts was in live-action and rated PG-13. PAW Patrol and Ninja Turtles were both animated and PG-rated.
So yeah, Paramount only released three family-friendly movies in 2023. Most of their other releases of 2023, such as Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One, Scream VI, and the upcoming Killers of The Flower Moon, are aimed at older audiences.
Only movie of the three 2023 4-Q family-friendly releases from Paramount on the big screen so far was Transformers: Rise of The Beasts, and I am going to see PAW Patrol tomorrow.
Which of the three movies did you see? Did you like it or not? Feel free to sound off below.
