The only information I have is a US Patent Number 3056418
I need to replace the cartridge valve. Any idea what the model # is?

Easiest way is to pull the cartridge and bring it to Home Depot / Lowes / your neighborhood hardware store. Other method, call Delta, they will walk you through the process to ID the faucet. https://www.deltafaucet.com/service-parts

For anyone who stumbles on this post, please let me help save you some time: Delta 1962 shower faucet US Patent # 3056418 Replacement valve parts that you’ll need are RP4993 and RP212 They’re sold separately, but I found them as a single kit at Home Depot. It was hanging nearby these individual parts.

Hi there. I’m replacing a 20 year old delta shower trim with new delta. If I remove this old cartridge, will the new one install without changing out anything else? My hope is to pull out the old cartridge and install the new. Thoughts?

My shower has a Delta Classic single handle faucet. It looks like this one
It now has a constant drip that I would like to fix but when looking at the repair kits, there are several different model numbers for that cover Delta Classics.
My question is are the repair kits universal or specific to the model number of faucet? If they are specific to the model, how can I identify which kit to buy before I take it apart?

Delta's website has an identify my product and if you take a picture of it and submit it through their site, they'll send you a free repair kit although it takes a few weeks.
