I set up a gmail account years ago, using a phone number. I no longer have that phone number.
I tried signing into that gmail account (I remember the password) but it told me that I needed to confirm a code that was sent to the phone number used to set it up.
Now Gmail will not let me sign in.
What do I do now? Does google seriously expect people to retain all their phone numbers for the rest of their lives? These rules are RIDICULOUS.

I lost 3 gmail account cuz i lost all of the phone numbers... i have my social accounts there, i tried everything what the internet says except for paying someone to like hack my account or something and get in easily.. i have no money for that :( i also tried the recovery method but it just keeps on leading me on that "You’re trying to sign in on a device Google doesn’t recognize." it doesnt give me that 123 method to recover my account:( im using a laptop.
those gmail accounts are really importantt TOT idk why they do that kinda verification but it just ruins a persons life:(
I have an old Google account that I used on my previous phone. After switching to a new device, I tried logging into the account after about a month. Even though I entered the correct password, Google is asking me to verify my identity. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to the old phone number as it has been deactivated, and I hadn’t set up a recovery email.
I contacted Google customer support, and they said they couldn’t directly help. Instead, they suggested making multiple login attempts to prove my identity, which might eventually work. Has anyone successfully recovered an account in a similar situation? Any tips on what else I can do?
