I have the Amex business checking and it’s surprisingly lackluster, from what I can tell the personal checking is like that too. You don’t mention Capital One, but their checking is really great and it earns a little interest. If you use that for your main checking you could potentially ditch BOA all together. If there’s not a Capital one branch near you, they’ll let you deposit cash at Walgreens, Duane Read, or CVS locations. And they are in the allpoint ATM network which seems to have machines all over the place. The interest on their HYSA is competitive so you could keep all your cash in there to earn interest and then transfer it instantly to checking when needed. Their app is really solid too. The Rewards checking does offer checks. It has since the beginning. You can order them by clicking on Account Services and Order Checks. You can also find the link by clicking more when you are under pay and transfer. More on reddit.com

November 15, 2024AMEX Checking or Savings as Primary Bank Account?
I use the savings account as my primary pay-from account and have no issues. Also, if I need to transfer money to my other traditional accounts (like chase or my credit union), their expedited transfer button makes it so the money shows up same day so long as I start it in the morning. So no issues for me. I never use the debit card with the checking account though so I can't speak to that. More on reddit.com

Anyone can open an American Express High Yield Savings Account, but only existing U.S. American Express consumer cardholders who have had their account open for at least three months are eligible to open an American Express Rewards Checking account.
That said, if you do have an Amex card, you'll have a bit more convenience seeing all your spending, saving, and rewards under one login.

Hello so I am new to the credit journey (19) and been spending a lot of time watching credit youtubers. Currently i bank with Chase and was wondering if I should consider opening an Amex checkings account. I heard opening checkings account gives you a little history with the company (which is why i opened one with chase), so in the future it would be easier to get accepted for an Amex credit card.
I also heard there was a SUB for the checking account (not sure if it is still available). But if it is not available, I don’t mind waiting till it shows up again.
So yea my question is should I go for it? I seen no fees on their website (If there is anything i need to be wary of please do tell). Just a new guy trying to make good credit decisions for a good future. Thanks for taking the time to read my question.
