I want a liquid cooler with a display but there perfomance seem to be not that good. I saw a benchmark video and all of the dispaly liquid coolers really underpeformed (except the ASUS ROG Ryujin III, which cost for the 240mm version 300 in my country). Also the the size for all the coolers were 240mm in that video and there were only 3 display coolers, so maybe there werent enough coolers tested. I am looking for a 280mm cooler but if there is a good 240mm version out there which is really good, thats fine too. Please give me some recommandations and are aios with display worth it, because I also value the looks of my build.

So Iโ€™m in the process of buying parts for my first build, and I am having a hard time making my mind up on which aio cooler to get. I know I want an LCD screen, so that lead me to three choices:

  1. NZXT Kraken Elite RGB 360

  2. Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE LCD XT 65.57 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler

  3. Lian Li Galahad II LCD 360 AIO CPU Liquid Cooler with SL Infinity Fans

Looking at reviews, the Lian Liโ€™s software seems to have the most problems, with the Corsair also having some reviews with this issue but not as much. The NZXT seems like the best choice, but I heard that the Galahad II has the best performance. Additionally are there coolers that I may be missing? Anyoneโ€™s input would be greatly appreciated. I plan on getting whichever in white if that means anything.

Hey pc building community!

As the title of this post suggests, I'm looking SPECIFICALLY for an air cooler with an LED or LCD display.

The cooler I have now is very effective and I'm not necessarily looking for an upgrade. I'm looking solely for aesthetic reasons. I Want the build to look sick af u know?

Sadly Deepcool isn't an option for me due to current US sanctions on their products. Would appreciate some alternatives lol.

Looking at some aio cpu cooler with lcd screen (have the ability to show the temperature).

For people who own such thing, are you using it and relying on it or using overlay like msi afterburner? Is it just a selling gimmick?

I am considering buying one, but I have a feeling that its something that will be forgotten and a simple overlay wiil do the job.

Please advise from your experience. Thanks

Hey all! I'm building a rig for a friend of mine, and he's a big math/physics nerd. I was wondering if there were any CPU coolers with an LCD on it for temperature display, but not for/on an AIO, and it has to be for an AM4 system. The entire rig is being built with Corsair fans, and with Corsair perifials (to keep the startup load down although that doesn't matter much lol)

Thanks!

EDIT: Going with the raspberry pi display route, probably gonna have to modify the monitor or case a bit, but it's out of warranty anyway lmao

What are some budget CPU coolers for LGA1700 with LCD display that shows minimum HW info (like only the CPU temps is more than enough). All coolers I found were above $200 except for this one https://www.amazon.com/MSI-MPG-CORELIQUID-K240-Liquid/dp/B091ND9HDQ/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8. But I am not sure if there are any cheap and good ones out there. 120mm - 280mm is preferred.

Apart from cool aesthetics and RGB does it actually achieve more thermal performance? As far as I understand the water just "moves" the heat to some other place but you still need the same amount of radiators and fans as if they were mounted directly on top of the heating parts.

Water cooling gives you 3 things Far more thermal mass - it takes longer to heat the water than air so it heats up far more slowly (and cools as well) than air - so it tends be far better at maintaining the components heat levels steady - an air cooler can max to thermal throttling very quickly (tens of seconds) the same heat load on a large water cooler will take 5 or 6 times longer to heat the system to max - if your max load doesn't last as long as it takes to heat soak the water system you won't thermal throttle at all. It provides the opportunity to have far greater dissipation of heat - even a 240mm radiator provides significantly more surface area to exchange heat than a large air- cooled fin stack, which means it can simply exchange more of the heat load in total with the air = lower temperatures. A completely water-cooled system (inc GPU) is far quieter than an air cooled GPU and CPU combination, both at idle and under full load. Disadvantages include: Risk of leaks and pump failures destroying components Small radiators with insufficient mass / surface area are worse than large air coolers Some water cooled systems esp smaller AIOs use brute force to manage air exchange(3000 rpm fans etc) leading to excess noise under load

It's usually half aesthetics and half performance. Generally speaking, liquid cooling is a bit better than air-cooling. Gamer's Nexus did a video on it like 2 years ago that you can search up if you want. As for pump noise, this really depends on the unit, I have an EK 240mm Basic and I don't really hear the pump unless I really concentrate on hearing it. I have T30s now and Noctuas before and the pump noise is usually at or around their level so it kind of blends in. They do come with their own headaches though, more moving parts means more likely prone to failure compared to a air-cooler where it's just a fan and a heatsink, at worse, you'll need to replace the fan. Another problem potentially is cost, I'm not a rgb/lcd screen kind of person and I personally think spending $150-200 for a 240m AIO just because it has rgb/lcd screen is kind of nuts. I bought my AIO for about $90 which isn't too bad.

Iโ€™m almost got everything but Iโ€™m going back and forth between the liquid cpu cooler. Iโ€™m going back forth between msi mpg core liquid p13 ($149.99) or Corsair ice titan lcd ($194.99). Which is better for its price and performance? If there are any other coolers you guys can suggest would be awesome too. Preferably $150 and under but definitely no more than $200 and would prefer a LCD screen

So I got a used Morefine 500+ R7 5825u to play around with and I found the cpu running with some load at 80ยบC with a noisy fan. After some looking around I decided to try and setup a liquid cooling system and, with some luck, I put together a Mars Gaming ML-prp120 with a near perfect adjusted fit. Had to use spacers for the screws (repurposing some foam pads in the cooling kit - not shown) and rotating the cooling plate for the perfect adjusted fit, therefore I had to screw the plates with a lateral fit. I am going to run the system internet next few days (missing a few 4pin cable splitters to start it up) and I hope to repost some results. Here are some pics. Roast away! Cheers

r/buildapc on Reddit: Is liquid cooling actually worth it for most gamers?

This is something that comes up quite a bit when people are planning or upgrading their builds.

Liquid cooling setups definitely look clean and are often associated with high-performance systems, but thereโ€™s also a view that good air cooling is more than enough for most gaming needs and is easier to maintain over time.

For those who have used both air coolers and liquid cooling, did you notice a meaningful difference in temperatures, noise levels, or overall performance?
Was the upgrade worth it for your usage, or did it feel more like an aesthetic choice?

Also curious if long-term factors like maintenance, reliability, or cost played a role in your decision.

Would be great to hear how people approached this based on their actual experience.
