If you’ll be passing through Pendleton, OR (along I84), absolutely hit the factory store. There are tons of seconds and they are at significant markdowns. The deals at the outlets aren’t as good and I’m not sure they have seconds there or just overstock. Hard to say what’s “worth it”, I wouldn’t go too far out of your way, but worth checking out if you can. More on reddit.com

October 30, 2018Pendleton National Parks Wool Blanket?
Just make sure you are looking at the Made In USA park blankets. Typically, they are the ones with Twin, Full, Queen sizes but read the description to be sure. I would not call them thin. I have 2 National Park Blankets. They are thick for a single layer blanket, but they are still single layer. If you aren't sure maybe try to get your hands on one first. I love mine. I use them for couch throws because they would be too warm on my bed since I use a down comforter and duvet cover. I use a cotton LL Bean Main Blanket for my middle layer on my bed. A hardy cotton blanket is more breathable and lighter than a Pendleton wool blanket. More on reddit.com

My uncle gave my parents a Pendleton wool blanket as a wedding present in 1947. When my mom moved to Florida, she passed it on to me. It is still going strong. No matting, hardly any pills, beautiful blue colors. She is 90, I am 50, and I suspect it will outlast me.
Definitely a BIFL.

The real Pendleton stuff is made from fabric that's still made in Oregon. They're commonly stitched elsewhere, but if the fabric isn't from here then it's not the real thing. The real thing is usually $500 and up so if it's any cheaper than that, chances are it's just the Pendleton name slapped on some cheaper product. More on reddit.com

Id read on here that the outlet stores might have some factory 2nd blankets for cheaper than retail. Im going to be out west in a few weeks. Is this still a thing I should make time to do?

We had a similar wollen mill in our area. Well worth the money if you will actually look after it. Mostly pick a few blankets a year at yardsales. Once you have them you'll never go back to man made materials.
