Hello is it worthwhile to visit the Pendleton woolen mills shop while here or are there other woolen shops that are more authentically local?

Pendleton is about 3 hours from Portland, so it isn’t technically local (the vibe is more made in Oregon), but fuck yeah that store is worth it while you’re here, my dude .

There is also and outlet store/mill site in Washougal, WA (30 minutes or so drive from Portland) and in pre-covid times, you could do a close up tour and watch some looming in action. If I remember right, its only one of a handful of places in the US (and with the Pendleton, OR site, the only two west of the Mississippi) where a certain process happens (I forget exactly what it was, maybe the dying stage). If the Washougal spot is open to the public, I would prefer stopping there over a regular retail location.
