PHP 8.1 has now been available for a whole two years as of today, and php 8 is about to stop getting security updates tomorrow. I’d encourage you to not wait until the last day of security updates to do a php release, especially if it’s just because you’re waiting for updates from developers for their themes or plugins. Updating to PHP 8.1 about a year ago would have been better to leverage its speed, efficiency, and enhanced security features much sooner. Also think about this: with PHP 8’s security support now hitting its expiration tomorrow, those who updated early had the luxury of a safety net. If issues arose with 8.1, a safe fallback to PHP 8 was still on the table. Now, with that option off the table, late updaters can be caught in a riskier situation if they have to revert to an insecure php version now. More on reddit.com

I had in my head that 8.1 goes EOL in November and this is confirmed by both PHP Watch and End of Life.date. However, checking on https://www.php.net/supported-versions.php today, this is listing security support until November 2025.
I'm thinking that PHP.net is correct but wonder if this has changed recently? Anyone know?
