Another example highlighting the difference between the two would be to show that 10:15 am is written as 10:15 in military time but 2:30 pm is written as 14:30.

The Time - Converting AM/PM to 24 Hour Clock
Should "AM" be "ante meridiem" or "ante meridian" (likewise for PM)? The official (according to an American, Australian and British dictionary), and most common, spelling for AM is "ante meridiem" which is a Latin phrase. I recommend that spelling! But people sometimes use the phrase "ante meridian" (a "meridian" in this case refers to an imaginary line in the sky when the sun is at its highest point). 3698, 3699, 3700, 3701, 3702, 3703, 3704, 3705, 3658, 3660 · Adding and Subtracting Time Clocks - Digital and Analog Sun Clock Date and Time Clock World Time Zones Earth's Orbit and Daylight

12am = 00:00 = midnight 12:59 am = 00:59 1am =01:00 11:59am = 11:59 12pm = 12:00 = Midday 1pm = 13:00 2pm = 14:00 Etc, through to 11:59pm = 23:59 The change happens at 12:00 (12pm) and at 00:00 (12am). The am times are all the same as a standard 24 hour clock as is the hour between 12:00 and 12:59(but now called pm instead). Then anything from 13:00 onwards starts again at 1 with pm added. And then for 00:00 until 00:59 you use am again but 00:30 would be 12:30 am for example and then back to 1am, 2am etc at 01:00, 02:00 Honestly, it's a bit stupid anyway using them imo, I totally understand the confusion, if in doubt stick with the 24 hour clock
