Ethan Allen used to be amazing but the quality has declined over the years but it's still better than Pottery Barn and any of the other places you mentioned. Pottery Barn has been mediocre for pretty much as long as I can remember as an adult and nothing, nothing, whether it be furniture, clothes, household goods has increased in quality over the years. If you have a Pottery Barn budget ($3k for a leather sofa) but want quality, you may like some mid-level brands like Taylor King, Bradington Young, Vanguard, Bernhardt, Henredon, Flexsteel etc. As far as brick and mortar goes, Room and Board is quality you like more modern and Arhaus is decent too - some of their seating is made in North Carolina and when I visit their stores, the leather, the filling, the build seems substantially better quality than West Elm or PB. Some of this might be 20% more expensive than PB, but the difference is like 3-4 year furniture vs 10 year furniture. More on reddit.com

Pottery Barn white labels a lot of furniture. And it's not clear what is their own design stuff, and what is just mass market. However, if you read the descriptions, the stuff made from solid wood is usually nice. But they do have a fair amount of mdf stuff now. More on reddit.com

Looks like the main difference is the Pacifica is imported and made for smaller spaces with cheaper materials while the York is built in America, upholstered with premium stitching, and is probably more comfortable. More on reddit.com
