Has anyone had success printing out UPS labels using QR codes? I’ve tried using the instructions we have printed out, but it seems like it still wants me to scan a barcode still. Do we actually have the function yet to print labels through QR codes?
I feel so bad having to tell people to go to the UPS store still after even the announcement says we can print labels.

Thought I'd post this because I had no idea & maybe others don't as well! For a printer-less shipping option, Poshmark offers shipping label QR Codes. Bring your package to a USPS Post Office, and show your shipping QR Code to a retail associate. USPS will print the label generated from the QR Code and ship the labeled package.
To update your shipping label preference in the app:
Go to your Account Tab and select My Seller Tools.
Select Shipping Label Settings.
Select QR Code to set your preference.
On the web:
Select your profile picture at the top-right of the page.
Select Account Settings.
Select Shipping Label Settings.
Select QR Code to set your preference.
Before heading to USPS, please generate your QR code ahead of time, as it may take 2-3 minutes for the code to be scannable at a USPS store location.
To generate a shipping label QR Code in the app: Go to your Account Tab. On the web: Select your profile picture at the top-right of the page.
Select My Sales.
Select the order you are shipping.
Below Print Pre-Paid Shipping Label, select Generate QR Code & you're done.
My local UPS store can only scan a QR code and return the label that came with it.
If I just pull up an electronic label, they said they can't scan it and they have to charge me $5 to use their computer to print the label.
Why can UPS only scan it with a QR code but not with the electronic label?
I recently opened a pack and ship store and I’m able to take UPS drop offs if the customer has a printed label. When a customer comes in with a QR code, I have no way of scanning it. Is there a way to scan the QR code, so it generates a shipping labelor is there a way that I can scan the QR code? I am a UPS access point partner and have postal mate as my software.
So we take packages for UPS; usually customers have a full label on the box I can scan in. Sometimes, they just have a QR code. We’ve been sending people to the actual UPS Store with those. Is there anything we can do with it? If we print it and put it on the box, can we take it? When I scanned one with my phone camera it just showed an address, so I would think if it’s on the box we ought to be able to take it but I don’t want to unless I know for sure.
Edit: Answered, thank you.
I made a sale and I'm going to drop the item off tomorrow. In the app, it says to show the QR code. Am I going to have to pay anything or how does that work? The buyer paid shipping so does showing the QR code take care of it? Thanks. I'm new at this.
The UPS store in my neighborhood is much closer and vastly more functional (and pleasant) than my local Post Office, so I usually pay the dollar to drop my USPS packages at the UPS store. But my printer is now out of ink, so I'm wondering if a UPS store can print USPS postage from the Ebay sale QR code. Anyone ever done this?
This will be my 1st time printing a label with a QR code. Of course it will be at kiosk but I am wondering do I also need to do another session on the kiosk where I scan the tracking # barcode to get it in to the system or does the printing of the label already do that?
Yes. In the rare instances when I don’t do it all at the counter, I have to do all QR’s, print them out and put them on, then go to the scan barcode button. Takes a bit but super easy and convenient (as long as someone isn’t behind you).
I do 100% QR code by the way.
i use the QR code option exclusively. Im not a big time seller (maybe 25-50 items a week). Its easier than printing out labels at home but it takes a while for the machine to print a large number of orders. i wish they would print as your adding them instead of waiting until the end to print each individually
The customer told me that another store scans it and it prints out a label?!?! Can this be done? I’m confused. That makes no sense how you’d scan the label and prints out. Was she just full of crap or is this something I can do with a zebra printer?
I apologize for the post. I checked the rules and stickies made sure I was okay.. but how do you create a shipping label from a QR code? Amazon has some update and is making me take a return package to the nearest ups store (~100 miles away). Normally I would just print a return label and drop it off at the store and be ups guy gets it. Any way to get a return label without paying $6.99?
It's not an Amazon return. I got a pdf file from the site I'm returning to but I also just realized UPS emailed me a barcode, not a QR code. It says "Your returns label is available to print or scan" then under it has the tracking number. Then in small print under it says "Print your label at home, or bring this barcode to a UPS location we'll print it for you." Then under that is a yellow button link "Get your shipping label" then under that is another small link "Find a location to scan your barcode." Then under that is the barcode.
I googled and it says it's free for QR or barcode. Is this true for all the UPS stores? And I want to know why it's free for that but without it, it's supposedly not free? Is there a reason?
Thank you.
I’m not sure if this is a relative place for this but I was wondering if any iot gurus have had experience using thermal receipt printers for printing QR codes for iot device integration? Here is my use case. I’m writing a python program that I will be using to flash firmware to my iot device, read device information, provision to aws, and printing the wifi access point information of that particular device on a QR code.
My questions are: “what label makers would accomplish this?” “What features should I look for?” “Are all thermal printers able to print to “sticker” paper?” “If I want to include more information on the sticker besides the QR code then is this accomplished through my logic or does the printer need this capability?”
I realize this topic is random and take down if necessary but given the Reddit I thought that this may have been encounters before. Any help is appreciated. Thank!!
Edit: after feedback I think what I actually need is a label printer. Same application applies. Still looking for same feedback
Can I use a package from say, Amazon prime with the bubble wrap inside, or do I Have to use a cardboard box? Thanks
Hi all, new member, first post and looking for help regarding thermal label printers that work with tablets, smartphones and PCs (i.e. Bluetooth). I want to produce labels with QR codes that link to documents listing the contents of boxes and files pertaining to my various home collections (not business use). So far I've checked out the Brother P-Touch Cube and various small thermal label printers from various Chinese manufacturers. I'd welcome any recommendations and/or tips from knowledgeable members of this subreddit. Much thanks in advance.
I have to issue a return and while clicking the link to take me to the print a label site i noticed theres a get mobile code option, i click it and it shows me an image of a barcode and says present this code at the ups store nearest to you!
I dont own a printer, am i able to just download the image onto my phone and have them scan the image off my phone at the UPS drop off and i wont need to print a label?
