I'm looking to buy my wife a good quality office chair for Christmas that's $300 or less and I was wondering if anyone here has a brand or model they swear by?
Hey all, Ahnestly here! I review chairs on YouTube and after collecting comments from my community mixed w/ my own personal opinion, I create an annual ultimate chair buying guide video for every budget and height (currently has a 99.3% like ratio, which is insane!). The mods have allowed me to link the video below, but it is NOT mandatory to watch. I'll list out the chairs first and link will be at the bottom for anyone who cares to watch that.
Preliminary notes: People wonder why companies don't make chairs for really short or really tall people. I wish I could show you guys my video's analytics...the vast majority of time watched occurs in the average height section. These companies are out here to make a profit, and sometimes that means targeting the majority, not the minority. Please keep that in mind as you will see a lot of overlap with these chairs.

US location based. Best chair. Regardless of budget (would be good to know price ranges however) FOCUS on lower back, neck and long duration sitting for work and gaming.
I’ve heard Steelcase, Herman, and others. But want to hear from actual people why they like it and if it’s lasted.
Plan is to try a lot but want a shortlist of what chairs people like and highly highly recommend based on focus area.
Posting this here because I just feel like no one would understand this more than you guys
Workspace is the place, where you spend your good productive time. There are ample of designs and options in market as of now. First of all it needs to be comfortable and you will need to understand all the adjustments. Without a clear understanding of adjustments having a great chair is of no use...
Few points to consider are :
It should be mesh material, for a good airflow.
Cushioning should be good
Hand Support
Neck Support
Most Important, lumber support. A respectablle office chair will have support for the lower back. A segment of the better ones will even have an adaptable lumbar reinforce that empowers the customer to fit the seat to their lower back. This is basic in foreseeing back strain that can worsen and advance toward turning out to be sciatica, a condition which can be devastating.
Height should be adjustable, as individual height varies in office. All erggornomic office chairs have height and arm adjustment; regardless, these are not the most indispensable changes as per the quest for when searching for an office . It would be exceptionally ideal if there is a pneumatic change switch in the workplace seat which makes changing the tallness conceivable in the most straightforward manner. Simultaneously, the forward or in reverse tilt of the seat ought to be movable.
Seat depth should not be too much that you legs won't fold properly and should not be less, so as to have proper support, when we bend out knees in sitting position.
Good to have lumbar Support adjustment
That's what I want you to know for now, shall keep on adding, as I can recall more points.

In the nutshell
Working from home can be a great way to avoid distractions and get more work done, but it’s important to make sure you have the right setup in order for it to be effective. I'll give you some tips on how to set up your workspace so that you can stay focused and productive all day long.
-Fine-tune your focus. A height-adjustable desk lets you switch between sitting and standing, which can help boost concentration, productivity, and creativity.
-Forget fatigue. Movement energizes your body. That 3 pm slump might be a thing of the past when a sit-to-stand desk gets in the mix.
-Get a happier back. Sitting for long periods of time can put pressure on your lower back and legs. Try standing up (and stretching!) while you work.
Using an office chair that is ergonomically designed can help to improve your posture and prevent back pain. In this blog post, i've highlighted some of the best office chairs on the market that are sure to keep you comfortable and productive all day long. I hope you found this information helpful and be sure to check out our other posts for more tips on how to stay healthy and happy at work!
Hi everyone, I'm looking to buy a new chair, either a gaming chair or an ergonomic office chair. I sit for over 8 hours daily for remote work and evening gaming sessions.
Are there any summer sales or good chair recommendations right now?
My current chair's seat cushion and surface are worn out, causing discomfort after long sitting sessions. I've also noticed it lacks proper body support. The middle cushion pushes me forward, preventing me from sitting naturally straight against the backrest.
I'm looking for a chair, whether gaming or office style, that's comfortable and promotes good posture. I've seen many streamers using AndaSeat Kaiser 4 chairs and heard they're excellent, though they are pricier. I don't have a strict budget since I plan to use this chair for many years.
Should I consider buying new or check the secondhand market? There are so many options out there. Any reliable recommendations?
I've tried a couple of 'gaming' chairs and cheap office chairs, but nothing works.
Budget is around $500, but willing to stretch for something that will last 5+ years.
What's the actual best ergonomic chair right now that's worth the investment?
Hi guys, I've been working from home for almost a year now. bought 3 office chair that doesn't really last. I love to lean on my chair but I noticed that I have a backpain all the time from working and sitting for 12 hours a day.
Are there any chairs that can help with posture and lessen the back pain? I used to buy chairs around $150 - $250 price range and I have tried 2nd hand ones but the same issue. I am now thinking of investing a much higher price.
Don’t buy new. I bought a refurb Steelcase Leap V2 locally for $300 and it’s one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. If you live in a larger metropolitan area there are definitely used office furniture stores around. Steelcase, Allsteel, Herman Miller and Human Scale are some good brands to look for.
Edit: fwiw some of my colleagues ordered the same model we have in the office from an online seller and none were happy with the experience. Apparently there’s a whole ring of liquidators in NYC/NJ all run by the same people that make shoddy repairs to broken chairs a ship them out with no refunds.
The Herman Miller Aeron chair is by far the most comfortable office chair I've ever used. It's definitely not cheap, though.
Hey everyone, I'm on the hunt for the best office chair and I desperately need some advice. I've been working from home for a while now, and my current chair is completely wrecking my back. I'm hoping to get some suggestions from people who have gone through this and found something that actually helps. Price isn't a concern.
Thanks in advance!
A 300-350 dollar budget will give you more liberty to choose a comfortable office chair. There are more nice options compared to a meager 100 or 200-dollar unit.
But the ones that offer a lot of ergo features, and these must work for the chair and complement the other parts of the unit.
Best office chairs within $350 - Recommendations for Redditors
⭐ SIHOO Doro C300
⭐ Branch Daily Chair
⭐ HON Crio
⭐ Nochaus Ergo3dL
⭐ Molents Office Chair
⭐ La-Z-Boy Sutherland Quilted
⭐ Oline ErgoPro
⭐ Branch task chair
⭐ Modway Jive Ribbed
Our buying guide outlines the more important factors that you should consider for your 350-dollar budget.
You may not be able to get a unit that feels sublime on your lower back, but it can be decent enough to use for more than 5 hours.
And here are some of the ergo features that you should prioritize
Seat height and depth
You now will be able to find a unit that can go high enough if you are 6 feet tall. But you also have to consider the seat depth or if the seat pan can be adjusted. Not all 300-dollar chairs that can go high enough will allow for ample clearance for those with longer legs. So you have to watch out for this.
Lumbar support
Either fixed or adjustable, you may still be able to find a unit that will be comfortable for long hours of work.
And if you need more customized back support, there are 300-dollar chairs that offer both adjustable height and depth.
Overall comfort
If the chair is made of. mesh material, make sure that it isn’t too rigid. Though you cannot expect a very intuitive mesh chair for this budget, you can’t find one that is sufficient enough, so do not settle for a very rough mesh thinking that you have no options here.
And if it’s a padded chair, the padding is not too firm. Does it offer enough support?
Unlike 200 or 100-dollar chairs where a mesh one is the safer choice, you can enjoy a padded chair and still get enough support.
Durability
It may not be an expensive chair, but you are still looking at something that can last about three to five years.
As such, you must refrain from buying ones that have more plastic parts and feel squeaky when you first sit on them.
You should also pay attention to how durable the material of the chair is including caster wheels and the backrest. You will be able to see more insights on legit reviews.
An ergonomic office chair is one of the mosst important items for your home office I bet, but you may not know how to choose the right one for your needs. I'll help you!!
You can find countless reviews from long-time users on Reddit about the value of ergonomic chairs. Brands like Herman Miller or Steelcase are often mentioned due to their popularity and outstanding quality, even though they can be quite expensive. However, there are many other great alternatives that can ensure your 8-hour workday is as comfortable as possible.
Few KEY points to consider are: budget + purpose + specs + warranty
Sort these out and you'll get the right chair, TECHNICALLY...the final and best is….comfort/fit
Regardless of whether it's technically the right chair, under the 4 main subjects, it might be uncomfortable, and no one wants that. Regardless of the types, models, and brands of the chair, you need to ensure that your chair is comfortable for working. If you want to buy online, you should check the level of comfortability they are offering. The comfortability of the desk chair depends on the materials used to produce the chairs.
Budget, no point looking at a one thousand chair, when you only have $500 to spend
Purpose, no point buying a chair, when you need a stool.
Specifications, if you weight 250lbs, you don't want a chair only for 150 lbs weight limit. Next, the armrest of the working desk is a crucial part of the chair bc to concentrate on working fully, you need to set the armrest in the proper place. Adjust the height of the armrest so that the seated elbow height is parallel to the armrest. Too higher and too lower of the height of the armrest provide an uncomfortable working experience.
You should also check the height adjustability feature of the chair, I'd highly advice this.
Warranty, if you run a business, you don't want to keep buying a new chair every year, cos regulations, or whatever, you want a chair to last. It's very likely, that if a chair had a 5 year warranty, it'll last 5 years. If it only had 12 months, it might only last 14 months, and no one wants to go spending 250 every year or so…. Might as well spend 500 and get a chair that'll last 10 years (for example) especially if you can get it discounted or on a sale.
So what are the "BEST" office chair companies today?
They must be store.hermanmiller.com (Herman Miller) and steelcase.com/products/office-chairs/. These 2 are the TOP on the market but of course they're pricey. If you're willing to pay, let's go with them.
Tier 2 brands are Xchair, Haworth, Branch, Sihoo and Flexispot. They make the best mid-range office chairs on the market today.
Best specifc office chairs models for each that are highly recommended for every budget at the moment:

- If you want to find the best choices under $500, here you are:

Hope this helped you!

I am sure that this is a topic that has been beaten to death, but it is hard to find the right mix of posts to get one answer.
As the title says I am in the market for a new chair, and have decided on the torrent of advice to avoid gaming chairs. I currently have a SL Titan XL that is about 5-6 years old and the bottom padding has finally bottomed out. The SL chairs are great but since I bought mine they have taken the exact same chair and added 50% to the price.
I would love to get a Steelcase or a Herman Miller, but at over $1000 for most of them, its not a realistic choice for me.
I am a bigger guy (6-4 and about 260 lbs., and have a max budget of about $500 (might stretch to $600 for the right one). Anyone have some good suggestions?
Thanks for the help everyone.
**Edit: As it appears I may be going used, any brands names are welcomed...
Edit #2: Thank you all for the help, seriously. I went hunting and found a used Herman Miller that has been gone through and comes with a 1 year warranty for $411 with a long time local shop. You all really delivered
When you spend up to 8 hours a day sitting for work, it can truly become a long-term torture for your back. In fact, the time you spend sitting might even exceed the time you spend lying in bed. Are ergonomic chairs really helpful? The answer is definitely yes. Just think about the millions of dollars you could earn over 10 to 15 years of office work, and the fact that you won’t need to spend money on therapists or chiropractors. Wouldn't it be wonderful to invest $1000 or $1500 in a high-quality chair?

Haworth Fern

Steelcase Series 1
Sidiz T50
We all want that indulgent seat and backrest that can support our backs and butt when we are in front of the desk for longer than 5 hours. But the question is, are you willing to pay as much as a thousand or more?
If not, that comfortable chair still exists. We have curated this list for that specific reason. You don’t have to anticipate bad back or lingering pain in the butt should you need to work for long hours. We have seating solutions that are within your budget but can still provide enough support for your body.
I know this question has probably been asked a lot of times before, but I couldn't find an answer that suited my needs, so I thought I'd post my own thread.
For some context:
Male. 5'10. 187 pounds. Average physical build.
I work from home, so I spend a lot of time in front of a computer, normally 8-10 hours a day.
I usually find myself unconsciously slouching.
I have a bad posture (not terrible, but still bad).
My job requires me to be creative, but creativity doesn't flow when my ass starts hurting after sitting for 30 minutes, so comfortability is my number one priority.
I've been looking at the Ikea Markus and the Staples Hyken (or any other chair from those brands, for that matter), but I haven't been able to decide which one is better for me. I know higher-end chairs like a Steelcase Leap or a Herman Miller Embody are probably a better choice, but I have a very limited budget of $400-$600, and I cannot buy a refurbished/used chair because those are not common in my country.
What does Reddit suggest?
Few people spend as long in a chair as we do. So what's your best chair? I bought one for $400 (Canadian), which is a lot for me, and it still kills me. I think the manufacturer is Tyger?
I do have a sit stand desk. And I exercise daily to stave off back problems and such.
Seriously, a big reason I don't have new certs or do side projects is I can't handle sitting after a workday.
I'm even considering financing an Aero or whatever those Herman Miller ones are. As much as I hate the idea of financing a chair I might need to.
Hey all,
I just finished my ultimate chair buying guide for 2022. These are all chairs I’ve reviewed personally and think they offer the best seating experience (nuances are given as to why the chair made it into the list and who it would be good for)

Pretty self explanatory but I am looking for a new office chair and would love to know your recommendations.
I am an average height/build so not looking for anything specfic. My budget is anything less than $1k really.
TIA!
Edit: Thanks for all your help, I have purchased this one and it's been great so far.
I work from home and I have had to replace two office chairs in just over two years. I’m not light, but not a crazy weight either, 220 lbs. But I’ve had the pistons fail, and the seat cushion wear out, and most recently the plastic base cracked.
The ideal office chair would be made of mostly medal, except for the cushions, have a replaceable piston, a replaceable cushion, and arm rests that tilt up.
Considering I am averaging about $100 a year now, I would be happy to pay up to $500 for a nice chair. Any recommendations on where to look?
