Reitmans- Canadian women's clothes!

I'm Canadian, I used to live in the Toronto area, and I don't at all remember ever seeing, or hearing about, Meghan. Can anyone spill tea on her time there?
It seems that she modeled for Reitmans 2015 to 2016? Reitmans is... how do I put this, its considered a tacky brand. A lot of their shops closed in the cities around 2010, cause they were just not popular, they're considered old people clothes, and tacky, so even before Meghan modeled for Reitmans, it already had a reputation for being... overpriced and boring. It's like these other Canadian brands y'all probably never heard about (Le Château, Tristan, Esprit, Reitmans, La Vie En Rose), totally overpriced, boring, and not at all reflective of Canadian tastes. Canadian brands that are popular are Roots, Canada Goose, Matt and Natt, and Lululemon. The point is that Meghan was a literal nobody and had no brand power.
Meghan lived in Toronto. And she met Prince Harry here. I can tell you the overwhelming majority of Canadians didn't know who she was, what she was doing here, and we didn't care for her. Was she known in downtown Toronto? I know some people who did meet Prince Harry here, for the Duke of Edinburgh awards, and Invictus. But Meghan? Not a blip. Prince Harry was liked by Canadians, but most of us really didn't care about him. The Queen, William, and Catherine are more popular and relevant here. Canadian attitudes towards non-working royals and aristocrats are indifference. Wealthy people like royals have private trips up north in cottage country, but its just not relevant to us (i.e. the Earl of Spencer, Harry's uncle, owns lots of land here).
I just find it so fascinating that Toronto was so vital to her meeting Prince Harry, but both of them wasn't even on the radar for most Canadians. We are not going to line the streets for Meghan, or Harry, and certainly not going to chase after them with paparazzi. I'd really like to know if anyone can spill the tea about her time here? It seems that she was hanging out with Soho people, the Mulroneys (corporate conservatives, blegh), and the Trudeaus (champagane socialists, blegh). Like, the worse most entitled spoiled brats, completely detached from most Canadians.
