Soundlink Revolve 2 not charging or powering on.
Had the same issue with it not charging. Finally found the bose cord that came with it and it will now charge. Tried 6 different cords on three charging blocks. None worked except the bose cord that came with the speaker. Couldn't believe it. More on reddit.com

I have a problem with the soundlink revolve 2 speaker. I updated the software. I use the original Bose cable and charger but the speaker does not charge, the orange charging light flashes, the speaker does not turn on. What else should I do?
Try factory resetting it following Bose’s instructions. My mother-in-law had the same issue. The charging port had busted over the years. She purchased the charging dock and that fixed it for another year. Now her speaker doesn’t even stay powered on for more than a few minutes. More on reddit.com

Another method of gathering log info

With Ubuntu 16.04 and greater you can open a terminal and type journalctl --follow. Then perform various GUI actions such as bluetooth pairing and see system messages in real-time. This gives you a systemd alternative to dmesg.

Below is log output from journalctl --follow where:

  • Bluethooth visibility was turned on
  • Sony external speaker was set for pairing
  • Attached Motorola phone which was previously paired to speaker was woken up to turn off the phone's bluetooth

journalctl sample log:

Turning bluetooth speakers on

Using the systray GUI, when clicking the Off to turn it On this message appears in the terminal:

Jul 07 10:14:32 alien bluetoothd[1527]: Unable to get Headset Voice gateway SDP record: Host is down

Because the speakers have no microphone so the message is trivial.

Bose Revolve Soundlink troubleshooting

From here it suggests:

Bluetooth Will Not Pair

Your Bluetooth device will not pair to the speaker.

Speaker isn't in Bluetooth Mode

Make sure your speaker is in Bluetooth mode by pressing the Bluetooth button on the speaker while it is on. When the speaker is ready to pair, the LED next to the Bluetooth button will flash blue, and, if the voice prompts are on, the speaker will say, "ready to pair".

Bluetooth isn't Turned on or Enabled on Your Device

Make sure the Bluetooth for your device is turned on or enabled and try to pair it again.

The Device You are Trying to Connect to the Speaker to may be Out of Range

The speaker's wireless range is 30 feet. Make sure that the device you are trying to connect to the speaker is within that range and try to pair it again.

There is Something in Between Your Device and the Speaker

Make sure there isn't anything between your device and the speaker, like bodies, walls, etc. and try to pair it again.

Multiple Paired Devices

Only one device can be connected to the speaker at a time. If there are two devices paired to the speaker, turn off the Bluetooth on the device you don't want to be connected to the speaker and try to pair the device you do want to be connected to the speaker.

There Have Been Eight Devices Connected to the Speaker

The speaker can only store information about the last eight devices that were paired with it. To select your device, repeatedly press the Bluetooth button on the speaker until you hear the name of your device. If you don't hear your device's name, clear the speaker's device memory. To clear the memory and connect your device, press and hold the Bluetooth button on the speaker until you hear a tone and, if voice prompts are enabled, you will also hear a voice prompt. Then the Bluetooth light will begin flashing blue and you can try to connect your device to the speaker again.

The Speaker's Motherboard May be Faulty

First, factory reset the speaker by pressing and holding the power button while the speaker is on until the speaker asks you to select a language and there is a flashing blue light. Select a language and try to connect your device to the speaker again. If your device still won't connect to the speaker, consider replacing the motherboards as a last resort.

r/bose on Reddit: Soundlink Revolve refuses to charge (again)
January 13, 2022 -

Any ideas?

I searched and saw some suggestions saying to reset it by holding down the multi-function button for 10 seconds until the lights flash, or to do a factory reset by holding down power for 10 seconds. Did all of that, still not charging.

I saw a suggestion saying it could be the charger, or the cable, or even a broken charging port on the speaker. If I plug it into a USB port on my computer the light comes on and the updater can read the firmware so I know all of that is working. Still won't charge :(

It has been suggested that updating the firmware fixes the charging issue. The last few times this "smart" speaker mysteriously decided to stop charging on me (yes this has happened multiple times) I updated the firmware and it fixed it. Yay! Not so this time. Updater says the firmware is already up to date, so there's nothing else left for me to do.

Alright, figured I would plea for help one last time before I accomplish one last final thing with this speaker.... and I can see the eyes rolling now, but the text post instructions say "speak your mind" and I need to say this anyway: Never again will I purchase another BOSE product. I've had more frustrations caused by this OVERPRICED CRAP!! than any cheap non-"smart" speaker. 300 bucks down the drain.

Now if you will excuse me, unless someone comes through with a miracle in the next 24 hours, I'm going to take this overpriced paperweight to my garage, where I will proceed to smash it into a million pieces with a sledge hammer. This will give me more joy than I ever got out of this thing before :)

r/bose on Reddit: Soundlink Revolve 2 not charging or powering on.
May 23, 2023 -

I bought a Soundlink Revolve 2 new in 2019. I used it pretty frequently as a garage/patio table speaker but for a while it sat in a desk drawer. I am going camping this weekend and wanted to bring it along. The device will not power on, and shows no sign of life when plugged in. I tried many different combinations of micro USB charging cable and various AC adapters (including original ones that came with device). Nothing works. Is there a battery replacement or charging port replacement for this? I hate that a $200+ speaker just up and dies like this for no reason.

edit: I looked back on my receipt from BestBuy and it's actually the Soundlink Revolve. Not the "2". Model: 739523-1110

With the old teams, my bluetooth speaker used to work flawlessly but after switching to new teams, it disconnects frequently while in the call. I have tried resetting the speaker and everything I could but the issue persists.

Had same frustrating issue on my Soundlink Resolve 2+.

What worked for me was to turn off "auto disconnect" function on Bose Soundlink, which is turned on by default.

You do this by holding the Input and Volume up buttons for a a few seconds until it audibly says "auto disconnect" turned off.

I hope it works for you too.

Regards,

Hello

I’m Adeyemi and I’d be happy to help you with your question.

There could be a few reasons why you're experiencing this issue. One possibility is that there might be an issue with your Bluetooth settings. Another possibility is that there might be a problem with the Teams application.

Here are a few steps you could try to resolve this issue:

  • Check your Bluetooth settings: Make sure your Bluetooth speaker is set as your default audio device under Teams settings. You can do this by clicking on your profile picture in Teams, selecting 'Settings', and then clicking on 'Devices'. From there, you should be able to select your Bluetooth speaker.
  • Reset your Bluetooth speaker: You mentioned that you've tried resetting your speaker, but it might be worth trying again. You can usually do this by holding down the power button on your speaker until it turns off and then turning it back on.
  • Update Teams: Make sure you're using the latest version of Teams. Sometimes, issues like the one you're experiencing can be resolved with an update.

If none of the above steps work, you might want to consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance. They might be able to provide more specific guidance based on your situation.

I hope this helps.
