September 22, 2025 - Join the strips with diagonal seams and trim the seam allowance to 1/2 inch. Fold the bias strip around the cord and use a zipper foot to sew in place. The welting will go around the bottom of the seat apron.

December 13, 2023 - Note any screw holes the fabric has covered, and be sure to remove it. This will allow you to reassemble the chair more easily. Position your cording along the back edge of the backrest.

August 24, 2025 - I didn’t see that part. Did you glue it on after the chair was finished? Thank you! 😀 ... Thank you! There is no cording….it just looks like there is 🙂 I folded the fabric to create a “seam” and then pulled extra tight and stapled the bottom where the staple would be hidden.

I added cording around the top layer of the rocking chair cover. Trying to replicate as close as I could to how the original chair was put together. I really like the fact that I added the cording. It looks finished with it.

January 27, 2025 - Finally, you’ll add a single or double welt cord to the inside back of the chair, depending on the width of the channel on the chair’s frame. You’ll secure the welt cord with a hot glue gun. This takes a lot of patience but is worth it for the finished look! January 23, 2016 - Sew Method: Sew the strips right sides together, end to end, to make one long narrow chain of fabric. No-Sew Method: Add a narrow bead of hot glue across the end of one strip. Place another strip on top making sure right sides are together.

July 26, 2024 - A long narrow chain of fabric wraps around a cord, which can be constructed by sewing or using hot glue. Using your glue gun, start attaching the welting to the corner where your cushion is against the back of the chair.
