Besides completely made up slang words , what are some common verbs that also can have a different meaning.

For example , Romper which means to break can often be used like the English phrases “ killing it and “ fuck shit up “ in the positive way like doing really good . Which makes sense because romper means to break/rip/tear . Almost like in English , “breaking records” and “ tearing up the competition “

Idk if all Hispanics say this probably , but I know my Puerto Rican people use it

For example if your friend is doing good at something ,

Que chévere brother sigue romper ! ( Thats amazing bro , keep killing it )

End of a YouTuber meeting PR rapper ( rompiendo papi ! ) = you’re killing it ! / you’re doing really good bro

Vamos a romper la calle pa que ganemos la plata = let’s fuck up / let’s tear up these streets so we can make this money

And “en la madre “ and “ a la madre “ is often used as well for extra emphasis

Hoy yo voy a romper a la madre = today I’m going to really fuck shit up !! I’m Going to have a great day ( and possibly even actually break records or previous limits in the process )
