Saying not and giving generic responses with no solutions, if any floor fails they have already started on the path of it's not my fault and will never be my fault. Suggestion is try another contractor or two and see what they have to say, you can say you got other quotes, but I would avoid saying anything negative, asking questions like I am liking this flooring option do you think it's good or do you have an alternative in the same tones or visual is a positive thing. I don't have a comment on the flooring because it's not available where I am at least not in a way I can cross it over specs look generic 90% of issues with SPC is the subfloor isn't flat enough the rest is, there is pinching, no expansion space, rolling chairs or no felt protectors on furniture that gets moved, or cleaning based issues. Uncommon but happen type of direct sunlight, interior severe temperature fluctuations, the rare cases an SPC should be acclimated, manufacturing defect/poor quality control, Hydrostatic moisture with concrete, alkalinity reactions, acidic cleaner reactions, steam mop was left on, going over solid hardwood floor, over a sleeper system and some other one. If you are patient, the duraclic flooring at Rona/ lowes come on sale for $3 per sqft or so. We’ve installed 5 different brands through our rentals and prefer that brand so far. The locking system and wear has been the most durable and similar cost to a smaller brand if purchased on sale More on reddit.com

Went to 2 big box stores and 3 local spots and am looking at this type of click lock. Gotta call them tonorrow to see what brand it doesn’t have markings on this small piece. What are your thoughts based solely on appearance of the lock mechanism and texture in your experience seeing a good amount of planks? Picked this one as I couldn’t break the locking mechanism like the other samples I got I could just bend off, but not sure if this means this is less forgiving to imperfections or more. Thanks!

I’m not of fan of click together in general, all of it is bad quality in comparison to most types of flooring, but it has its places I admit.
Drop lock is only good with thicker planks which it looks pretty thick, I bet it will do just fine. They are easier to install that style as well.

Cut the casing at the line. Hey folks,
Thinking of installing about 1500 sqft of ProSelect Plus (Champagne Oak) from RONA, SPC click-lock, 6.5mm total thickness, 20mil wear layer.
A contractor told me this stuff is “garbage” and will break within 3 years. He said the locking system is weak and even refused to guarantee the install. But when I asked what brand he recommends instead, he dodged the question, so now I’m skeptical.
Has anyone here actually used it?

The installer has probably had bad experiences with SPC flooring. 6.5mm should be thick enough but personally I’d recommend you use a premium laminate. More durable and less potential issues.

Im an instaler for over 30 yers and all i can say is stay away from cheap stuf made in china they are made with doubfull composant some time over cook or just not square if you dont fully trust your local flooring store check with an other one stuf label in california have more warning or caution details about some danger to exposition helt hazard
